So it could read user meshes again, I don't know about audio, because its for Roblox, but uploading meshes were different their has been many sales of them during the pass, it was a great feature for the community and they patched it.
Audio was mainly used by Roblox, and users found a way to upload It, and later you patched it to, but then later it was re-introduced with an new feature so you can upload audio, so why didn't you do it with meshes? it would've been uploaded as audio and decals, just using the formats of .obj, .mesh whatever.
Yes, exploiting scripts into Roblox is bad, but at least it kept the community fine and happy for a while, many meshes were being introduced, Roblox didn't actually bothered it until 2011 when it was patched like I said...
Their was barely any reports of inappropriate meshes being created. how hard was it actually to view the mesh visibly, its like seeing models but mesh.
It goes like this: http://web.roblox.com/New-Mesh-feature-demo-item?id=288988735
I'm wondering something like that could be implemented in the future.
Moderation for it might be difficult, but if its been seen locally on a brick model, or see the mesh link to leading creator of that model then they could get an Creation ban, basically its a random ban I came up so they wouldn't create a thing again. not even places, so they could leave the site alone. unless they want to send a appeal.
sorry for reposting, the other post was a lot of info, so I levelled it down and make it much simpler +demo of the idea I thought of, it isn't that fancy.
What do you think of this idea? |

None of the reasons you mentioned are the true reason ROBLOX is steering away from user meshes in favor of CSG - they want to preserve the building-block method of making things on ROBLOX. Why build an entire castle when you can just make it one big mesh? They want to keep people creative and have them make their ideas given some blocks, wedges, and cylinders (and other ROBLOX-made meshes). |

@9x0x0x0
Yeah, that's why they put CSG in. |

csg = user mesh

CSG is a way of putting in user meshes while making sure users still have to be creative and work with the basics - blocks, cylinders, all that. This is talking about OBJ files, so no support.
If you wanna do this just get FreeD. |

However the advances are:
Building from blocks, ending up creating realistic cars that were imported because to make something out them, or use it for detail for your game + it brings up a lot of people joining, I want to build a realistic modern warfare game, where, sorry for offsite link, but creating these out of them: http://tf3dm.com/3d-models/nobby76 --This link is safe, just shows a bunch of .obj models of fighters, jets helicopters, that would be fantastic for me to use all these stuff, just imagine what Roblox could be, how many developers today from Roblox, when user meshes were added and popular then becoming proper game designers from the start and ending up making a lot of profit what the game they made
Yes, it lacks creativity in blocks, but that's a reason for meshes, you can spend your work working on a mesh, send it Roblox, and boom, it might fit in for your game because bricks can do a lot of work, it lags sometimes, but the solution is compact them into meshes, the main issue is the brick-shift which has been going on for a while...
People found a way to insert .obj files into union, yes its a major breakthrough of how people were interested in it, but CSG can be hard to texture, and plus they almost lag as bricks, if too much. its mainly due to the surface area and structure.
It's still a good idea right?

nvm just forget it, it wont be added lets admit.... |

Mesh textures are blurry, and you'd have trouble walking in them if you built a castle mesh or something |
|
|

True, but its kinda classic, that's how they look in those days. meshes are usually blur when they're enormously huge. |
