This flight manual is distributed to all ranks of United States Airforce to learn the steps of flight formations. This manual is required to be studied and used when training or tryouts for the United States Airforce.
[Formation Types]
1) V formation.
2) Diamond formation.
3) Straight line formation.
4) Reverse V formation.
- Each of these formations are designed mainly for events such as air shows, and not recommended for combat use unless pilots of great experience can execute these in live combat situations.
[Formation Flight Procedure]
- When preparing for either of the 4 fight formations, you're to execute the following steps:
1) Align your aircraft into the formation onto the ground before take off, this is so the other pilots can see the formation, then finally signal the other pilots in the formation to take off.
2) The flight leader is to give different commands on when, and where to lead the other pilots In the formation.
[In Flight]
1) When successfully in the air with the other aircraft, slow your aircraft throttle speed to 40% and wait for the aircraft to slow down at the same throttle speed, this will allow you and the other pilots to create the formations with ease.
2) Signal the other pilots to your command to make sure that their either left or right wing is lined up with the other wings, so that you can execute this formation with ease. If however the other pilots are way behind, you're to signal a command to them to boost throttle speed so that they can catch up with the rest of the formation.
[Formation Landing]
1) When coming in for a landing, the flight leader is to signal a command to the other pilots to form a spaced line so that each aircraft can make a safe successful landing. It is also optional to take turns landing one at a time so that no accidents will occur.
