A lot of people spend hours and hours to create an awesome game, and they don't even get close to the front page.
So, my solution to this problem is to add a new cathegory on the front page called something like: "Good But Unkown".
For a game to appear in this cathegory, the creator must send an email to Roblox explaining why their game should be in this cathegory, and if the game is good enough, and unpopular enough, it will be added to this cathegory.
Pros:
Unknowns developers will be able to get people to play their games.
People will be able to discover good games that no one plays.
Cons:
Someone could make a game good enough to get into this cathegory and then change it into a (you know what) place.
It would take a while to read all emails and test all games.

No support. A better idea would just be a "recently updated" page, that shows all recently updated, public places. |

No, no, no.
That's a horrible idea.
Lots of games are updated (Most of them just baseplates) every second. |

That is still better than Relying on Roblox staff.
A recently updated system can be automated, and possibly improved later on to make search results more reliable. This sub-forum alone is enough to prove that you cannot rely on Roblox staff to listen to anything, so why introduce a system that'd require an entire group of dedicated staff in order to successfully implement. |
|
|
Cue thousands of emails from EVERYONE explaining why their game should go in that section.
There has to be another way besides emailing it in, and there has to be some sort of restriction. Until then, no support. |

Not if it's a "recently updated" system.

I'm not agreeing with this idea, either. I just don't think yours is any better. |

"Not if it's a "recently updated" system."
That doesn't make any sense as a reply to the quote above it. |
|
|
If it's a "recently updated" system as you suggested, it would show anything that was recently updated.
No way to "improve" on it. |
|
|
Good idea, but there's an issue: it relies in the ROBLOX staff. With that in mind,
No support.

A title is a way to describe it, not the full length of the features.
By your logic the "Games" tab should show every game ever made, but it doesn't.

There's no good way to do it automated, and ROBLOX staff wouldn't have enough manpower if everyone was able to do send their games in for manual review.
Why can't you automate it? Because OP wants games that have very few visits or none at all and are still good, and you can't tell a machine how to find a good game. A machine can't really tell if a game is fun or not :(
That's why there should be a mixture - maybe send your game in to ROBLOX staff, but not by email. There should be a special way to do it on the site, that way they can restrict it to make sure they aren't overloaded. |

Humans are still machines though. Not mechanical, but biological. How exactly would Roblox staff be any better at determining if a game is "fun" or not? The only obvious cases would be games like apoc rising, or mad murder. But those are needles in a haystack. Most of the time it'd be subjective opinion. Why risk Roblox staff discluding something that others may find enjoyable? |
|
|
If it's subjective opinion then there's no good way to do it at all. |

If it's subjective opinion there's no good way to filter good games from bad. There's still a good way to introduce a feature that allows new games that are good to become popular. |
|
|
Who would decide which new games are good? |
|
|
I didn't mean only games with like 100 visits or lower, I meant that games that just aren't popular but still good should end up in their own cathegory, and when the games manages to have atleast something like 100 players or more online for a day or so, it'll automatically be removed from this cathegory. |

Everyone will be in a rush to make their game get in this category, it might take a week for a reply.
[email protected] is already bad enough.

No, but a "recent games" list would show recent games.
The "games" tab leads into more tabs related to games.
If I expected it to show *all* games, it should be titled "All Games" -- But it's not, so I expect it to lead into sub-categories.
"Popular" shows all current most popular games.
"Top Earning" shows all current top earning games.
"Top Rated" shows the top rated.
And so on, so on..
A "Recent Games" tab should need to show *all* recent games. When you do a list of recent [item], you show all of the most recent of that item.

@wonderful
The person looking at the game should decide if it's good. Why have someone deciding for you if you'll enjoy the game? |
