the 'buzzing' thing you're supposed to do to make it make the sounds makes my lips feel really weird and i accidentally got one of the valves stuck whilst trying to oil it (fortunately, i got it unstuck without damaging it, yay!) still better than my first experiences playing a guitar though

Will you add it to your music? if so, that'll be great!

"Will you add it to your music? if so, that'll be great!" but of course it could be awhile before it makes an appearance though

"i quit band in 4th grade cuz it sucked" i didn't even pick up an instrument until the seventh grade seeing as the band classes i'm taking seem to mostly have younger kids (beginning band isn't done by age - anyone can take it) i feel a little embarrassed by this

^ Just blow the trumpet. That's music enough.

"^ Just blow the trumpet. That's music enough." it doesn't make a sound if you just blow into it you have to make this weird buzzing noise in order for it to produce anything resembling a note

Can you record this buzzing noise?

#173682996Tuesday, September 08, 2015 11:00 PM GMT

i played trumpet at the time I took band and if I remember correctly you have to spew into the mouthpiece not blow it

You'll get used to the buzzing feeling. It never really bothered me though (I march with a mellophone which has a trumpet mouthpiece. 7C which stinks. Never get 7C), but yeah. Good luck with auditions and stuff coming up.

It's called buzzing of the lips. It's pursing your lips and blowing air though the small hole created to vibrate your lips. Also make sure to tongue every note. I naturally did it cuz it feels weird not to but apparently some people just blow

It's better to just blow into it and not try to force the buzzing and good choice instrument-wise trumpets are da best

Don't worry, if it doesn't work out as an instrument, just remember "Everything is a dil do if you're brave enough"
