Well, thinking of this in scripting terms, a LocalScript would only make events happen on Client side.
If you could change the scheme/theme of the website to whichever version you want, only you would be able to see the changes. I get what your saying about everyone seeing your profile as one thing, but that would actually cause more problems. If everyone's profile had a different theme, that would make the server have to save/load more data. Now if it is only a client side difference (or profile difference), only you would see the changes (throughout the website).
As for that, it wouldn't be a bad idea, but it wouldn't be the first thing on their to-do list.

@Mighty
That is not correct in any way. All they have to save is one variable, literally 1 byte of data. |

any support?

No. Think of it this way. Every single profile has stored by the server. The more differences, the slower the server. It may be minor now (and I'm sure they have enough servers to handle it), but it does produce an amount of lag.

@Mighty
If they were to implement the system, that is not how it would work. Right now, only your profile DATA is stored. The way your data is displayed can easily be handled by the client. They would not make it so every single profile page is stored on the server. They'd make it so content would be dynamically loaded from the server and displayed by the client.
That's why ROBLOX has only one "User.aspx" directory, but they have a query for which user ID it is. They only have one profile page stored on the server, but they also feed it a bit of data to choose how it is displayed. This wouldn't change anything. |

It's like having a Part for every player on roblox, on one game. Now imagine each part having it's own color and texture. Then add decals. The more you add, and the more differences there are, it will create lag.

There are no differences stored on the server. Only your profile data is stored on the server, and the layout will not change the data. The client handles displaying the data. There will be no server lag at all. |
|
|
It still creates lag even if it is handled by the client. Don't forget the communications between the server and client.

If displaying it is handled by the client there will not be any noticeable lag when the profile is loading in. Remember, ONLY THE DATA IS BEING COMMUNICATED. The client handles all of the displaying and how the data is actually used. Right now both profile layouts use the same data, since, well, they're both profile pages. Communication between the server and client is not necessary for data to be displayed. Only the CSS and JS has to be loaded, with a few HTML differences.
But which files you load can be decided by one byte of data - 0 for the old one, 1 for the new one. A simple boolean. |

Either way, do you really want every profile to look different? Won't they layout change? You'd have to learn how multiple layouts work (new players would probably have a harder time with this). Plus, what if there are features that roblox no longer wants, or features that previous layouts didn't have? How would that work? They would have to update all the previous layouts to have the same things as the new one.

No, I don't want every profile to look different. I don't support this for the exact same reasons. |

It says that if you buy OBC you get the ######## theme, i've been trying to do that but can't. why is that? |

Why is there always that ONE guy that likes to think he understands how servers work but actually has no clue?
User.aspx is the profile page. Roblox has ONE profile page. Then, your user data is pulled from their database and is placed in the appropriate field. Do you genuinely think ROBLOX just creates a new file for every person that signs up?
Literally all they'd need to do is link a different CSS file depending on whether or not your profile is set to new or old. Yes, this means you will have to transfer literally a few extra bytes of data when loading a profile page. Trust me, if you can stream online video, you can handle the minuscule impact that will have.
And no, adding an extra column to the database to store profile preference is not going to cause lag anywhere else on the site. The only (barely even measurable) difference will be when loading a profile page. That's like saying your entire computer is now slower because you made a new text file in your root directory. |

Didn't Roblox say that they were gonna let people rearrange their profile pages once? I still haven't seen that. |

too much work for the web team, not worth it. would cause lag like others mentioned. kids would accidentally set it to 2006 and not know where everything is and would have to quit roblox because they dont know where everything is anymore

Your profile screen is one little area.Just allow us to change the color,I highly doubt that's going to cause a ton of lag.Yes,others may ask for decals and textures,but that's not the idea here.
Yeah, a kid would set it wrong, but no one is going to quit roblox because of a theme change that makes it difficult to find stuff,they'd just complain to roblox until someone give them the solution. |

Mighty, it's clear you do not know that this already existed...
