How did you guys learn to code?

Hi, I'm highly interested into learning how to code in Lua.I bought two books about it, novice and intermediate however they are a bit outdated and I don't find it easy to learn code by just doing that. I've learn a decent amount of Python and got a B grade on it but I'm totally confused on Lua. So, how did you guys learn? P.S Not sure if this is the right topic for this post but it fitted my question. Thanks!
