in no way is it an actual sport, it's similar to a sport in that it is a competitive game where multiple teams or individuals compete to achieve the same goal, and only one can achieve that goal at a time, but it misses a big point to be recognized as a real sport: it doesn't actually involve any physical activity.

Just because it's on ESPN doesn't mean it's a sport
under that logic, that makes the spelling bee a sport.

i'm a competitive eater, just because i am 500 lbs and 5'10 does not mean i am not a high performance athlete.
