These days, I can barely even post on the forums without getting slapped with a Warning or a Ban. It's like the moderators don't even want anyone to post on the forums. Literally anything can be considered bannable under the banner of "Harrassment" or "Inappropriate Content" with the ever-present excuse being that the "Rules aren't complete."
If the ROBLOX community is to continue its survival, the moderation system needs an overhaul. The rules need to be loosened, and more leeway should be allowed. I'm not saying to get rid of the rules completely, because that would be ridiculous. The rules should be made to be complete, and moderators should no longer be allowed to punish anyone for any reason.
"But ROBLOX is a kid's site, it needs moderation!"
Most of the people on the forums are 13 or older. Sure, there are younger people, but the vast majority of ROBLOX's younger players are playing games. And guess what? THOSE ARE BARELY MODERATED. In fact, I'll go so far as to say it's been a very long time since someone was banned due to something they did in-game. If ROBLOX really wants to protect the kiddies, they will improve in-game moderation rather than focusing on cracking down on the forums.
Bottom line: The rules need to be loosened to allow for more freedom of expression.
Also, if this thread gets deleted, and this account gets banned for this thread, it will just be further proof of what I am talking about.

I support. Its like the mods dont give two thoughts before banning, I have got banned for saying Ready to RP to someone. These mods need to get fired and replaced for better mods |

I entirely disagree, I've only had actions taken on me when I actually broke a rule, and there's no reason I SHOULDN'T have been following that rule. And what's with people's twisted view where they think that their thread making points against the moderation system get's deleted and they get BANNED just for saying they think the moderation should be different?
Tons of people leave that "Watch this get deleted and prove my point" part at the end of their complaints, and they rarely get deleted. So how could you have the view that saying anything bad about ROBLOX gets you banned? It's when you don't have reasoning behind it and it's just plain hate that it gets deleted, and it's when you're breaking a rule (Such as talking about your bans and warnings on the forums) that you could possibly be banned.
Now, there are some strange happenings, such as when I got warned for saying something about a potato I believe, you can't look at what you were actually warned for, just the column it falls under. So, that's when you message a forum mod to look back on that action, or message appeals or info. Simple as that. Drive to their offices if you want and try and talk to them directly, if they allow people in for that, I'm not sure of course, they're on the other side of the U.S from me. |

This is a kids' site. It doesn't matter if the users on the forums are MOSTLY 13 or older, kids are still on here and see this stuff. And that doesn't matter. No 13+ content should ever be allowed anywhere on the site. It's either meant for all ages or it is not right for this site.
If you keep getting banned for Inappropriate Content and Harassment that's your fault, unless you got a reeeaaally stupid ban that EVERYONE would consider stupid. |
