A little edited version of my RP lore Backstory In the year of 2270 AD, the Federation encountered a strange wormhole in the middle of the capital city, Aurae City. The Scientific Inquiry was sent to investigate, and discovered that the wormhole was connected to another universe. This sparked excitement among the scientific community, but caused worry for the Federation government. Suddenly, the attacks began. A huge army of fantastical creatures emerged from the wormhole. The creatures, such as orcs, goblins, dragons, and giants, devastated the city blocs. Soon after, a seemingly medieval army emerged, and began to occupy the area near the Schism. The Federation Armed Forces was notified, and the Army was called in to drive the invaders out. The battle was long and bloody, as the enemy forces apparently possessed magic as well. Even the AERIS Division was deployed, which proceeded to attack the enemy forces. Hours later, the invaders were finally driven back into the Schism, which still stood in the middle of Aurae City. The Federation decided to send an Expedition into the Schism, so that they could recon the area and prevent another attack. Months of preparation later, Expedition Force Omega was prepared, and was sent into the Schism. It would be the start of the Fractured War. Factions The Federation The Federation, officially named the Federation of the Sigma Sector, evolved from the early colonial governments set up by Earth. After the United Nations declared the Sigma Colonies independent, the colonists wrote a constitution for the creation of the Federation. Ever since then, the Federation has been a successful union of the various planets in the Sigma Sector. Several wars have been waged as a result of Separatists, but most of them have been put down. AERIS Division The AERIS Division is a separate part of the Federation Military. Within the Federation, special mutations occurred as a result of several solar flares. These mutations allowed for special abilities to manifest within individuals. The Federation quickly recruited these individuals for the AERIS Division, where they undertake the missions that most cannot. In addition to their powers, they posses the most advanced personal armor in the FAF, the HAVOK suit. HAVOK Exoskeletal Armor: Designed specifically for the AERIS Division -Enhanced speed -Enhanced strength -Enhance reaction speed -Up-to-date data through HUD -Enhanced mutant powers -Energy Shield (E-Shield): Hexagonal shaped shield projected from arms like traditional shields Expedition Force Omega The armed exploration group organized by the Federation. Consists of the Marine 1st Battalion, AERIS Division, Mobile Armor Division, Expedition Inquiry Group, and Army Engineering Corps. Their mission objective is to explore the new world beyond the Schism, and send back reports on the inhabitants. If attacked, they have the authority to attack back. In addition, they are to establish a peaceful settlement for future expeditions. Empire of Terrarum Founded by the 5 Legendary Kings: KaMando, NaMasta, DaIro, RaLapo, and MaKipu, the Empire is the strongest nation in the world of Terrarum. All other nations are tributaries, paying their tribute annually to appease the Empire. The Royal Family descends from the 5 Legendary Kings, and possess some of the strongest magic powers in the entire Empire. Currently ruled by the Nobles, after the invasion of the Empire. Although the Empire remained, the current Emperor Ekran is a mere puppet of the Nobles. The Nobles A mysterious people from beyond the Forbidden Sea. At first, they appeared to be friendly towards the Empire, arriving on the Western Shore. Soon after, the main invasion force struck, and the Imperial Army was on the run. The Nobles possess the most powerful magic that Terrarum knows, and decimated any armed resistance the Empire threw at them. Subjugating the Empire, and expelling Emperor Eltas IV, the Nobles divided the land amongst themselves to rule. The Nobles are lead by the Noble Lords: a council of the most powerful of Nobles. DaIro Corps An elite division of the Imperial Army. the DaIro Corps is consisted of Nobles only. The Corps is the personal hit squad of the Noble Lords, conducting personal hit missions to keep the pheasants in check. In addition, they are used to spy on the Loyalists, the remaining soldiers under Eltas IV, and attack them regularly. The DaIro Corps is given the strongest enchanted armor of the Nobles: The Armor of Darkness -Enhanced speed -Enhanced strength -Enhanced reaction speed -Holy Relic: Used for magical stat boosts -Summonable Shield: Defence -Enhanced magic Loyalists Followers of the deposed King Eltas IV, they continue to serve the King. Despite being heavily outnumbered, the Loyalists continue to rebel against the Lords, mostly through small raids on outposts. Once part of the elite King’s Guard, these soldiers are still a force to be reckoned with. While not possessing magic on the level of Nobles, the Loyalist Mages are one of the most powerful human mages in all of Terrarum. Roles (Federation/Terrarum) Specialist/Huntsman Highly trained scouts. Carries minimal equipment to facilitate easier movement. - Specialists are known to carry a small Type-3 HoloPistol, GPS marker, long-range communications radio, Type-45 HoloSniper, and a handheld translator. - Huntsmen are known to carry a small magic-infused dagger that enables the use of low level spells, an enchanted bow, a map of the target area, a horse for transport, and a guide depending on the mission. Operative/Knights Best known for their offensive power. Carries the most damaging weapons and can be found on the front lines. - Operatives are known to carry a Type-4 AutoPistol, long-range binoculars, Type-50 HoloRifles, Disintegration Grenade Mk2, and a combat suit. - Knights are known to carry a magic-infused longsword that enables the use of medium level spells, a dagger for close quarters, a full suit of armor, and potions for healing. Support Gunner/Battle Mage The backbone of the fighting force. Provides support to the fighting forces. Heavily armored to continue providing support. - Support Gunner: 200-round Type-40 Holo-MG, Type-12 Grenade Launcher, Mk.5 Mortar, and field medical kit. - Mage: Staff: used for high level magic. Summoner: Can summon a horde of minions (goblins, ogres, etc.) under the summoner’s command. Mana potion: to recharge mana. Health potion: Used for healing allies and self Spells (Exclusive to Terrarum) Casting limits: Low-level - 10 spells before 1 hour cooldown Medium-level - 20 spells before 1.5 hour cooldown High-Level - 40 spells before 3 hour cooldown. A level higher can use spells of lower levels as well Low-level spells (Huntsman) 1) Minimize : cloaks the presence of the user for about 10 minutes 2) Blink : teleports the user 10 meters away. no wind up 3) Facade: Disguises the user for a short time (20 minutes) 4) Absorption of Mana: Replenishes energy when weakened. Can only be used twice a day. 5) Scorn of Magic: deploys a anti-magic barrier (10 minutes). Used for escape Medium-level spells (Knight) 1) Meteor: fires a flaming ball of fire. explosive on contact or timed. can be guided 2) Spellshield: Counter magic. Creates a shield that negates magical attacks (1 second) 3) Warp: Switches places with a friend during combat (1 second) 4) Wave of Rejuvination: Heals nearby allies. Not as effective as Mage-Magic. (2 seconds) 5) Electric Charge: fires off a barrage of lightning bolts against enemies. lightning can be passed through enemies as well (3 seconds) High-level spells (Battle Mage) 1) Elemental Hail: fires off a barrage of fire-infused hail upon the enemy. effective against enemy formations. 2) Deception: confuses targeted group of enemies. makes them think that each other is enemy 3) Sunfire Orb: launches off a gigantic energy blast. (1 minute wind up) 4) Flame Flux: Summons 30 demon soldiers. attacks targeted target first, before attacking other enemies. can only be used once per day 5) Replenish: heals and replenishes strength to nearby allies. up to 50 people can be targeted at once. (this was from an old rp i made a while ago) PLOT The date was July 5, 1985. It was a busy day in Springfield, Illinois (The IRL city, not the setting in The Simpsons). People around the city were waiting in line to buy tickets to see Back to the Future. Kids were busy reading TMNT comics, watching the Transformers TV show, listening to Michael Jackson or playing with their Rubik's cube trying to solve it. It was indeed a busy day lately. Until 6:00 PM. That's when it all began. A large gang of criminals named "The Legion" had stolen a fraction of the military's weapons and used them to take over Springfield. How? First, they sent 5 highly trained criminals from the gang to infiltrate several US military bases in Illinois in order to steal the weapons. Next, when it's done, all 100 criminals in the gang raid the Illinois State Capitol to take control of the city along with the state. The crime lord behind the large criminal gang, now appointed governor of Illinois, legalized all crime in the Illinois state. And what happened after that? All hell broke loose. 5 years later. July 3rd, 1990. It's been 5 years since Illinois fell under control of the powerful gang. The US military forces have made desperate attempts to reclaim Illinois. It went horribly wrong. It only made the criminals sightly stronger. The only choice the US Army had was to isolate the state, which they did so. And then they did nothing with it then. Illinois was turned into a wasteland complete with desolate buildings, criminals getting away with frequent murder and suffering people who were the remaining citizens of the original Illinois. The military weapons were delivered to criminals and crime gangs across the isolated state. Fortunately, there is a second chance. A group aiming to restore former order to Illinois was formed by surviving policemen and some citizens. It was called "Liberty For Illinois", or "L.F.I." The group had stolen some military weapons from some criminals. The group called The Legion "tyrants". Now, it's July 4th, 1990, and the L.F.I. and the Legion are at war. News helicopters observe the isolated state for footage of the war. The men and women outside Illinois hope the L.F.I. shall gain the upper hand and reclaim Illinois. For great justice.

Gonna see if I can dump DotI here. --- Since the Union of the Freedom Party fell back in 165, the world of the Scoye has never been the same. Outside tyrants and warlords have been colonizing and committing mass murders, the new nations struggled to agree on borders, and, more importantly, a new union was formed, currently called the Yaleshire Union for its capital city and the place it was conceived of. This, though, was about forty or so years ago, and about twenty years ago these same Yaleshire assemblies decided it would be profitable to invade the entire region of the Scoye and unite it under their glorious banner. The Yaleshirists don’t kid around, I tell you now. These bastards put their citizens in labor camps for a mere bad remark of their supreme leaders or misplaced glance at an officer of the law. They do not allow their people to leave the nation unless they are soldiers heading to the colonies or government officials heading on vacations. The Yaleshire Union has a history of isolationism and totalitarianism, which leads people to doubt they had actually risen to power diplomatically, as their official reports claim they did, over forty years ago. Over in the colonial area, or Integrated Territory, conditions and laws are worse, and citizens aren’t all falling for the Union’s illusions like they would in the homeland. Here in the Northwest Integrated Territory, or what’s left of the Gora Republic, depending on who you ask, the neighbors to the West are still trying to get land off of us and terrorism kills off most people before they reach the age of thirty. Revolutionary groups, guerillas, and religious cults all battle each other and the new state, and, at some point in time, you decided to participate in one of said groups. --- The geography in Scoye is bland, to say the least. Most of the land is either a desolate wasteland of dirt and gravel or a dismal crag, crumbling and blackened from the nukings of the Great Wars. Trees grow in clusters around lakes or coasts, and are a valuable asset in this world, despite most lakes being volcanic craters prone to eruption at any moment and not actually lakes. The coast is jagged and dotted with large, newly-constructed, Union ports, and cities that very rarely exceed a population count of over five thousand. Living conditions in Scoye, at least since the original occupation of the area, have been steadily declining to the point where a mere single-room apartment would put you at middle class. Jobs usually include hard, physical, labor, and the heat doesn’t help. During warm seasons, droughts tend to last months and flies tend to come by the thousand, while during the cold seasons there tends to be an everlasting blizzard going on. Geysers are scattered all over the land, but provide no more than iron-contaminated water and some odd-colored stones. --- Most rebel groups are identified by the same terms: Separatists, nonconformists, dissenters, heretics, you name it. The Union really doesn’t care who you’re fighting for, or why you’re doing it, they just arrest whoever moves out of line and call it a day. Though they all have generally the same goals, being something along the lines of getting rid of the Union presence in the area, most have different intentions of why the wish to do it and what they plan on doing after they have achieved this goal. The most common rebel group is an unconventional force known as the Separatists Movement. The Separatists have no central leader and are split up into hundreds of different communities of about fifty people each. When not fighting the government, they fight amongst themselves, but can unify in times of dire need. Their goal is to simply get rid of the Yaleshire Union presence, and, for the most part, they really don’t care what happens after that. It would be hard to describe how they operate, though, as it varies between the smaller groups. The second faction is the Gorsk Necromancer’s Army. The GNA is a branch of the Separatists, only defined by their motives of bringing back the Gora Republic, which existed before the occupation. They are a bit more organized and many of the groups consist of ex-Gorsk government or military officials who managed to raid the armories before they were salvaged or destroyed by the Union Forces. The name of the GNA is based around how the Gora Republic is dead and they’re trying to bring it back. The last section of the partisans are the smugglers. They have no definite name, but are usually allied with other factions, but from foreign countries, selling weapons and equipment to aid the rebellion, while actually completely disinterested in the whole conflict. They sole purpose is to make some extra money out of the situation and probably backstab a few people in the process. The last nation-wide organization is a religious group of people who follow no God, but rather a lifestyle known as the Way. This religion seeks to reform or eliminate the government in order to gain back their religious freedom, as the Union is highly atheistic and takes religious matters very harshly. The group, known as Jarun, actively sorts out terrorist attacks on government buildings, but has cold relations with the other rebels for one reason or another. --- The Yaleshire Union employs several different government security and defense forces in the Colonial Integrated Territory, ranging from the common sentry stationed at the street corner to hostage rescue teams. The main force you see around the cities is the Civil Protection Force, or CPF, which pretty much anyone with a spotless record can join and serve in. The CPF tends to be armed with either a pistol, light carbine, or, in a dire situation, a sub-machinegun. CPF officers can be identified by their black jumpsuits, anti-stab vests, and black baseball-type caps, and, if they have to drive anywhere they will utilize their standard-issue pickup trucks or sedans, depending on how urban their area is. The next tier up from the CPF is the National Defense Service, which is comprised of prestigious CPF or those who are sent to academies at age five. The NDS is basically the group which is given the task of hunting down terrorists, (though they do a terrible job at this) espionage, and tactical operations which require more firepower than the CPF has access to. Most officers of the NDS don black jumpsuits, plate carriers, full helmets, visor and all, when operating in the field. They have access to rifles, sub-machineguns, shotguns, and are always equipped with a sidearm and knife or bayonet. Some squads of NDS are also equipped with automatic riflemen and grenadiers, which give them access to belt-fed machine guns and gas grenades. Skipping all of the local special forces teams, the most dangerous nationwide government-based group is the armed forces. Divided into the Army, the Air Force, the Navy, and Colonial units, the Yaleshire Military is massive and the government isn’t afraid to show it off. There are parades in the capital city almost weekly and airfields littered around the desert. Colonial forces tend to be armed with automatic rifles, machine guns, anti-materiel rifles, and just about any other type of expensive and powerful weaponry you can name. Their uniforms vary depending on the unit, but in battle they mainly wear olive-drab jumpsuits with plate carriers and gasmask --- guns list is /IThRN6 - it’s a shortened google link, as in goo-dot-gl.
