sci-fi and fantasy, if done right, could be fun. the latter is the most fun after all -- at least as i've seen -- but only if done right.
the forum has sort of devolved. it's mostly the same stupid stuff you see about. |

yeah i mean im not hating on sci-fi and fantasy at all, they're my favorite genres tbh

id love to see a little more variety now and then, with fresh ideas and rarely used genres
it just seems most of everything is a rehash of something now and its kind of... dull? it's the same group, over and over, with the same ideas, over and over.
unfortunately nobody makes them anymore, since they usually fail. and since they usually fail, nobody makes them.
i would want to go try a new forum, but im too used to roblox's layout, so i usually get too frustrated. and i tend not to really contribute in their community as well. so. i just leave afterwards before i join an actual rp.

i tried to make something unique, but i guess what happens is people get intimidated by the concept or huge amount of information that's presented to them and end up not joining in the end. |

I personally agree with Smough. The really popular RPs are the ones like Tear in the Multiverses and stuff, and the newly made ones usually only get about 5-6 pages, unless a genually popular fourmer posts an acceptably original RP.
The problem is that, nowadays, so many ideas have been taken by RPs in the past that it's nearly impossible to create an original, never-before used idea, unless you have a creative mind.
I do think you should take a shot at trying to make an RP.
All you need to do is think about an idea for a while, and you can (hopefully) come up with something.
You can take a common idea and add a twist, or go with the extra hard path and try to make an original RP.
Secondly, as many people have said this already, you are mistaken, utterly mistaken about your actual reputation.
I think that you are one of the most popular and most loved forumers around here.
So, my answer is sometimes, nope. RP isin't always worth it. But take a break and think for a while, and you'll be better then you already are. |

That's not the entire thing. Thinking on it helps, but not what you do to create a perfect RP.
What you need is something to inspire you. You want to make something original and amazing, you get inspiration. Look at things. See others -- look at them in depth and see their flaws and what makes them flawed. Even your own threads. We, by nature, learn through mistakes. And if you learn from them, you are guaranteed to make a great RP. My past few fell flat, but as I look at them, I see why.
Observe. You observe and take note. Every little detail can help. Take inspiration from things. Just be careful of how much of it is done. If you do it too deeply in depth, people will be intimidated. Do it too little, you get worse RP'ers. Make note of everything you see and notice. It can help you. |
