Of course not! Linux is so insignificant. Almost nobody uses Linux in household day-to-day use. Linux has less than 0.1% of PC OS market share while Windows has over 50% and Mac OS X has over 17%. No support

Windows and Mac OS X is for people who do not know how to truly use a computer.. And there are many who use Linux, notably Ubuntu and Mint

By "many," you are referring to the >0.1% of people who use a PC.

I have 2 words for you. Get. Out. Ditch your linSUX. Switch to Windows. It worked for me when I ditched my Ubitu (I think that's how you spell it) and switched to Windows in 2008. Linux can barley handle YouTube videos and emulators like M.A.M.E.

Yeah, because all the good Lua users TOTALLY use windows /s No, seriously. Linux has a low market sale thingy because most linux distibutions are free. Roblox for linux is good for real lua developers because the best lua developers use Linux so they can add libraries that are originally made with linux. And also, Lua needs to be compiled to be used. OT in a nutshell: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KDRAhiBtOrQ

Shedletsky said they're 90% done with a Linux port, but there are three major things I think are stopping them: EFFORT - An executable file works on Linux OR Windows, it can't work on both. That means they have to recode the game to work on Linux and then release that special version. That means they're gonna have to put in some effort. They get that effort with... MONEY - They need to hire Linux developers. Salary is what makes up the cost of most big projects. A-List actors are sometimes paid seven-digit salaries for acting. When companies do this, they usually plan on getting a return for their effort. That may not be possible because of... MARKET SHARE - A big thing when considering platforms is market share. Windows has the greatest market share of any operating system, which is why most developers focus on that first. Then they port it to Mac, since that's the second-biggest. Mac ports are something else entirely. Linux's market share is 1.74%, and of that 1.74% only a select few have even heard of ROBLOX. I don't see it coming for a long time. Now with the Xbox release they probably need to cool down before working on another platform.

If they're able to make a mac version, they're able to finish the linux version. They're both based on *nix, it's just that mac has more professional build tools than linux does. It shouldn't be hard since there's already an opengl render subsystem and and studio's gui uses qt.

Oh wow, this thread is a mess. Im just gonna leave this here: >people who says linux sucks dont know how to use it >its not hard to learn >ubuntu is babby's first linux OS, if you cant figure it out you're missing brain cells >"x is bad on linux" x works just fine on linux, you just didnt bother to learn how to use it >"youtube/web stuff is slow" there is no reason for it to be slow, install Chrome, it comes with flash, youtube works just fine on it Windows is just whats popular, its less functional, costs way too much money and has all kinds of bloatware, telemetry and other crap that slows you down. OSX is nice, its also a UNIX based OS, its limited but still clean and easy to use. It can be easily modified to run like any other linux distro. Linux isnt just Ubuntu, ubuntu is just the one thats sold in stores as a disk. Ubuntu is what kids use to say "i use linux". Its not that special and its not hard. If you want to use Linux and get what you want out of the freedom of linux, install Arch, Gentoo, base distros like Debian or openSUSE. Learn how to use them learn how to make them look good, and then you can have your fun. Its like dwarf fortress, you have to go through alot of tough trial and error, learning, to get to have fun.

Stop acting like a snobby OS connoisseur, it's not really helping your stance. Windows definitely has a lot of strengths: - Easy to use - HUGE software availability - Backwards compatibility - Updated support for newer hardware - "Plug & Play" hardware support - Gaming :D - High market share - Easy maintenance, a ton of documentation

"- Easy to use" that isn't a strength linux is also easy to use >but it isnt! thats the point, dumbhead easy to use is an opinion "- HUGE software availability" through third party software, just like linux "- Backwards compatibility" what are you talking about if you were on the dev side, this wouldn't be true at all "- Updated support for newer hardware" it doesn't matter what you use for linux either, gamer "- "Plug & Play" hardware support" so does linux "- Gaming :D" a lot of steam games are on linux the steam client is on linux "- High market share" thats because no one buys the paid distributions of linux "- Easy maintenance, a ton of documentation" linux also has a ton of documentation and easy maintenance? you wish you're a gamer, wouldn't expect more OT in a nutshell: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KDRAhiBtOrQ
