I think the show needs some work. I don't know how Arrow and Gotham get a stellar cast and good writers, yet Supergirl turns out like another cookie-cutter TV drama. It focuses too much on politics and social issues and not enough on her being an actual super hero. Not to mention she complains WAY too much, and not even about her villains. If they really wanted a "feminist" icon, let her lead BY ACTION and not by words.

I think you hit the nail on the head. The audience that the shows producers are trying to cater to are those types of people who like thinking about politics and social justice. That's how they have been selling the show so that's how its just going to be. And of course she is going to complain about stuff not superhero related because the show is being watched by a bunch of SJW hipsters. Just pointing that out. @Plex: I agree with your point. My main issue is how this show flipped DC's universe for a loop. Before the show was released, I was confused on why it wasn't included in the Arrowverse. You would think that it would give Supergirl some decent exposure, but they stuck to commercials instead. Now I'm starting to see why it's not. I'm mainly pissed they cancelled Constantine for this. I don't even see how Supergirl compares. Sure, she's a female superhero. It's just she's not that interesting. Wonder Woman would've been a better option than Supergirl. Constantine garnered the same, if not more viewers, than Supergirl is right now. They only gave the show one chance and it was perfect. Sure, he wasn't as known but he actually was being something he actually was. Supergirl is being something she's not. I guess it's just me who see's these issues, but I just don't understand how cancelling Constantine is justified by the release of Supergirl.

I think they just wanted to widen their demographics. "A few honest men are better than numbers" - Oliver Cromwell

I can agree with you on that one.
