Many user-made items have been taken and redistributed without permission.
Here's what the updated "Friends Only" option will do:
>> Audios, Decals and Clothing Textures will be hidden from anonymous users.
>> Only friends will be able to claim a copy of audios, models, decals and clothing items. The "Take one" button will be grayed out to anonymous users.
>> A hint mark will be placed below the Item Title next to some text saying "Why is this hidden?" When highlighted, it will say, "This item is only available to the creator's friends. Try sending a Private Message to request permission."
>> Un-copylocked places can be downloaded by No one, Only Friends, or everyone.
[!] Followers are not given the privilege because they can just snatch the items in just a few more clicks.
This can help decrease copyright infringement.
I have checked to see if this was already suggested and I found no relevant results.

But can you turn it on for certain items, or will it be a button that will change all items to friends only?

The "Take one" button will be grayed out to anonymous users.
this won't stop players from taking it. all you need is the ID of the item. it should work like if an anonymous user looks at your profile, they can't see the audio/shirt etc. at all. i know you stated this earlier. but you implied they can still see it but not take it.

There are some who have done that method but users who are unknown to the creator have still gotten a chance to snatch the item(s).
People can still copy Audios, Decals, and Clothing textures by using the IDs (as Stravan stated).
They have to be hidden altogether so the unknown user does not get chance to snatch and copy the items. |

I've encountered giving friends and/or users models and not want to risk having it taken by anonymous users
I'm in complete support, I will ask some RBXDev users about this and see their thoughts on this. |
