Support, There are heaps of accounts that haven't logged in since '08, '09, '10, and it becomes difficult for new players to select new and original names without including numbers or random letters.

I strongly disagree with this. This is just plain disrespectful to the users who haven't logged in. What if it's an alt? Also, this is just wrong in general, taking someone else's username so a new player can just steal it from them. It will cause bad things.

Stupid Idea just make a new account. I've wanted to change my username many times and got an original user_name. And if you were to take the username and the other person would be named it what if someone mistaken the other profile for the current owner of the new name? Why not just put somehting like iiAppleCider or something.

A better idea is to have usernames be auctioned or something. Not traded. Thinking about it items should be able to be auctioned.

@Coolest 1 user is the person trying to get the username, and the other is the one who already has the username

Shawnyg's idea is a good one. But a lot of good names are from peeps that haven't logged in for 7 years.. D:

I see a flaw. If this was true, then you could change your name to builderman or someone else famous and pretend you are them 😂

This idea is so stupid. OP is an idiot. What if the player comes back? If this idea gets added, ROBLOX is basically forcing you to play so you don't forget to log in.

Another variation: Say instead of "Trading usernames" it simply gives them a free name change. The only problem here is the loss of income for ROBLOX, so to make this more fair how about it costs 2k R$ to take a username of someone who hasn't been on for year(s), I think this, plus the 7-14 day notification for the account owner, would be sufficient for this idea to be implemented. A basic usage example would be: User "OldName1" wants to take username "AwesomeName2" but it is already registered to an account which hasn't logged in for 4 years, once they put in the desired username and click "Buy for R$ 1,000" the system checks and finds the old account with that username, and the user gets another popup which says something along the lines of "This username has already been taken by an old account. In order to continue you will need to pay for an additional name change and the user will have 7 days to prevent this change. Your funds will be held and if at the end of the grace period the user hasn't responded you will have your username changed, otherwise the funds will be released back into your account." and has a confirm button with "Buy for R$ 2,000" and of course the cancel button. Then it sends the old account an email warning (if it has an email on it) and if they don't respond, it completes the transaction and if the user ever returns, they will be prompted to change their username, kinda like how if you get a warning, you have to agree to the ToS again, only this is for changing the account's username.. Just my 2 cents on it all.

It's a bad idea. This idea IS LITERALLY stealing usernames. John Doe and Toolbox are not admins, so I don't know where your point is. Also, that "warning message" is stupid. What if the person generally doesn't check their e-mail. This idea is really bad. Some people move on to a game, but then come back here to see how the game has changed, and their username is wierd. This shouldn't ALLOW users to just steal someone's username. They should get permission first from the user who has their desired username, and they reserve the right to take it back when they feel like it.

This has been discussed hundreds of times between Developers & Staff. The ROBLOX Staff even declined a 5 year offline period from what I can recall...
