I propose a means of scripting that is OPTIONAL and can be toggled at will.
It will consist of a large series of rectangular bubbles in a menu. The three types of bubbles will be "Cause", "Effect", and "Special". Drag two or more bubbles into a second menu in the right order, and if the combination and order make sense, it will auto-magically create a script for the user to use. Numbers can be typed into "fill in the blank" spots on some bubbles to add specific times and/or velocities.
For instance, a user drags a "When touched" bubble from the "cause" section into the menu, and then drags a "Create Explosion" from "Effect" into the menu. Finally, the user adds a "Wait [5] seconds until reusable" bubble into the menu, but then changes the [5] to a [9] to prevent spamming. Then the user assigns it a name, and hits "Create," and a script is created with these parameters.
It's fun for kids, reduces newbie reliance on free models, and allows experienced users to churn out large numbers of assorted scripts easily and quickly. This will, in turn, allow for larger quantities of decent places to be made. |
