The other day I noticed my model's parts were breaking apart whenever I moved them after I added them into studio. I recently figured out it's caused by anchored models being placed on a slanted surface, such as a wedge or a rotated part.
Here's an example of what it's doing when I place them on slanted parts.

The models are anchored, there's no welds, scripts, or any special objects inside of these parts. This is all happening during studio, not in-game.
I would love it if ROBLOX could fix this issue, cause I can't place the assets I've created in my games without them starting to break apart due to slanted surfaces.
I have no idea if anyone else if having this issue, I only noticed we were allowed to place models on slanted surfaces recently. |

anchored models cant "break apart" and the model in that image looks fine to me.
Number of times opinion has changed: Alot. |

You'll notice it in this video.

At the beginning when I first inserted it there were no gaps or misplaced parts on the mode. After I started moving it around and putting it on slanted surfaces it started getting screwed up. |

I don't follow offsite links, but I've not been having this issue.

There are no offsite links in this thread. |

I had the same problem a few days ago. I put a simple, anchored house created by myself in my game, and as soon as I added it, the structure began to "fall apart". Sort of. |

I see this issue in games that use the classic build tools as well. It's really annoying, especially if one is relying on welds which don't work when not in contact (something building off of these breaks will cause). While I believe this belongs in the help forum, and I don't have a fix for you, it certainly is an issue that should be addressed.

It's literally impossible for anchored parts to break apart. They stay as you left it. The only way it could "fall apart" is if it anchored it's self, which could only be done manually or with a script.

do the pieces "shift?"
if so I've experienced it and roblox needs to fix it |
|
|
To avoid this, try moving the parts/model in manually with the move and rotate tool.

@Mighty
The video and photo is right here to show you what it's doing.

@Greg
Yes, they're "shifting". It's driving me crazy cause I can't do much building with this happening. |

@Mighty
I always do it manually, and I don't have manual joints enabled either.
The parts are anchored and smooth. I'm using the tools ROBLOX gives me and not a plugin. In studio, while paused.
It's an issue and it needs to be reconised and fixed. |

What your video showed was you dragging your model all over the place. I did see some parts uneven, idk if they were like that before, but it doesn't matter. I meant the move tool as in the arrows, not dragging it around. Also, try turning Collisions off when your doing that. Idk, I really don't see this happening to me. If this actually is a problem, then sure, I support ROBLOX fixing it. But I'm not really seeing a logical reason on why they "shift".

Yeah turning the collision on or off didn't help either. Thanks though. |
