"Oh, that'd be perfect!" she says happily, her sweet voice carrying through the restaurant which is devoid of people. Besides you and her, of course. Must be a slow day today. "I'll go hold the back door open for you," she tells you with a smile, before turning and walking off with a stride full of calm and delight at the world.

Arn, of course, went off and carried the boxes in, one by one, setting them wherever she directed him. When he was done, he approached her. "Uh... So that's the last of the boxes. Hopefully I wasn't too slow in getting them in here for you."

((I am aware that this is probably the most boring dip in any of your ISRPs so far and I apologize for that. Also thanks for bearing with me through it, kek.))

"Oh no, it's all fine," she says, walking over to the boxes and smiling at them. "It's always so fun to open packages, even if it is just for ingredients," she says with a giggle, before turning to look at you. "I don't have any money lying around to tip you though, sorry," she confesses with a frown. Though, quickly, her frown fades and returns to her cheerful smile. "I didn't think the packages would come in this early. I could make you something to eat though, if you're hungry. Are you hungry?"

Arn was about to turn her down, but his stomach beat him to the punch and a loud growling erupted from it. "I suppose. Something to go, preferably. I really must be on my way."

She nods, understandingly. Turning on her heel, she heads over to the kitchen area and starts up the fryers. As she turns, you take note of her legs. The only note you actually make of her legs is that they're nice. She walks with that carefree and cheery walk over hers that matches her sweet voice. While she never seems particularly outgoing, she's not introverted either. Her voice and stride all seem to hint at that much. "I'll try to be quick, I'm sure you have some important deliveries to make," she says once she's started up the fryers. She turns and looks back at you with a smile, "What do you like on your burger?"

"Legs," he said, for a reason he could not fathom. "I mean-!" He corrected himself quickly. "Bacon... and cheese, of course. Ketchup and mayonnaise. I don't know if you have those things out here in space." He felt himself growing flustered. "God, I just want to get out of here," he thought to himself.

"Legs?" she asks, looking at your legs and not seeing anything particularly noteworthy about your legs. She then looks down at her own legs. "Oh, maybe my skirt is a bit too short," she says. Her skirt isn't really that short, but it's not extremely long either. "I'm sorry about that. I do try to dress modestly. At least, when I'm not at home," she says with a giggle. Peering into her eyes, you can see that she's thinking about a special someone. She smiles and turns around to work on your order. After a few minutes, she walks towards you and holds out a brown paper bag. "Bacon cheeseburger with ketchup and mayonnaise. Oh! And some fries too," she says, "I hope you enjoy. Do you want a drink too?"

Jaeger shook his head, able to think clearly somehow now that he could tell she was taken. 'Why wouldn't she be, you damn fool?' he scolded himself silently. "I've water in my ship. Thank you for the food, Miss. I'll be back some time." He brought the food out the door after saying a final goodbye, went around the building, and entered the Enterprise. He ate his food in the dining room before returning to the cockpit. Once the ship was on and lifting off, he quickly checked his SpaceAd on SpaceAd.

"Okay then. Bye! Thank you for the delivery. Stay safe!" she says with a cheerful smile and a friendly voice as you walk out. You enter the Enterprise and take a seat in the kitchen to consume your food. Upon taking your first bite of the burger, you feel overwhelmed. The bacon has a nice crispy flavor that doesn't overtake the other flavors in the burger, but works with them instead. The patty is perfectly seasoned and juicy. The bread is a very special kind of soft, the kind that just melts in your mouth so you can easily get to the main parts of the burger. As the bread melts, so too does the cheese, creating a nice warm gooey taste in your mouth. All of these flavors are amplified by the addition of mayonnaise and ketchup. Once you've finished your first bite, there's a singular thought in your mind. This is the best burger you've ever had in your life. In eating the delicious burger, you almost forget about the fries. You're glad you didn't, however. Upon taking a bite of a fry, you find that it's just as fantastic as the burger. It has a certain combination of salt and spices on it that hits you with a soft and spicy bite. Spicy enough to keep the fry from being bland, but not too spicy as to burn the entirety of your mouth. You soon finish your meal, and wish you could eat this everyday. No doubt, that manager is a master chef. Strange that she's chosen to open up a fast food restaurant, though. As you dispose of the paper bag your food came in, you have another thought. That manager's boyfriend probably gets to eat home-cooked meals from her everyday. You wish you could be so lucky. You head to your ship and lift off from the restaurant. Once you're up, you check StarAds and find that only one person has commented on your ad. "jenlovessquid: u seem rly boring, but i hope u find a friend!!!!! :) :) :)"

Arn sighed. A good burger and a bad night. What a way to start off his new life. This "jenlovessquid" reminded him of Lilienne. He remembered then how she used to say, "You're so boooring... but... I love you anyways." It turned out that only the first part was true. She always said it when Arn wasn't willing to go to a social event. She would always stay home with him and they would watch a movie or he would cook dinner for her. One night, though... she didn't stay home. That was their last night as a couple. Trying to ignore the pain in his chest, Arn closed out of StarAds and put in a search query as he set a course for the Space Station- "Ongoing War, [Insert Current Stardate Here]"

Looking at the top of your holographic computer screen, you see that it's a Friday in the year 7099. It's the end of a century out here, too. It also seems that the Universal days and months are the set up the same way they are on Earth. Perhaps that's one thing that Humans contributed to the Universe. As you warp off to Space Station 4242, you type in your search query. As you do, you feel a pair of arms wrap around your waist. In an instant, all your troubles are gone. You've felt this feeling before, a long time ago. You feel your mind give in to your heart. You need to let go, but you can't. "Hey sweetie," you hear Lilienne say into your ear with that sweet voice of hers, "whatcha looking up?"

Arn knew this was an illusion. He knew in every fiber of his being that this thing that was happening was not real. Lili was not there. He did not have those arms around his waist. But he didn't care. The explorer let himself sink into the hallucination. "Ohh... nothing." He looked up at her and smiled. "Just reviews for this burger joint I just hit up. Something in the burgers there... I'm experiencing some weird like... Hallucinations or something." He sighed. "What are you doing on this glorified space boat, Lili?" His tone was not accusing. This was a dream, and one did not fret over dreams. He knew any indignant remarks he made here would be calls into the wind. Might as well have the wind say something nice.

Let go. "Something in the burger? Oh, I don't think that's true at all. Place'd be shut down if there was stuff in their burgers," she says, leaning closer to you and kissing your neck as her arms tighten around your waist. Let go. "Mmm, I'm just spending time with my favorite man," she answers with a smile as she presses her cheek against yours, "It's cold in here. You shouldn't let yourself be so cold, Arn." Let go. "Try to stay warm while I'm away at the party, okay? I'll be back soon. Your best friend's at the party too, I'll tell him you said 'hi.' Call me if you need anything," she tells you, giving you another kiss as her arms leave your waist. She let go. She isn't coming back. You arrive at Space Station 4242. Though you'd just eaten, you suddenly feel empty inside. Spacenet has returned a few results. "War in Jaota sector brews on, expected casualties to skyrocket" "Minister Jessup Lail says 'We will banish those zealots in the name of freedom,' accused of being a racist." "Station 19 is accepting conscripts to help in the fight against Station 20." "War in Naoi Sector comes to a close, young girl who lost her parents shares her story."

Arn suddenly realized WHAT he was hallucinating, and the tears flowed freely. How could he be so stupid? How could he not recognize it. That moment, burned into his subconscious, had slipped from his mind only to be stamped back in. He wiped his face with a napkin bearing the Responsible Girls logo. "So much for a souvenir," he whispered. Jaeger almost laughed. He bookmarked the Jaota and Station 19 wars as well as the article about Minister Lail before docking in 4242 and going to the Cargo floor, cleaning his face in the bathroom before going out with the handwritten documents to find the man outside.

After you've bookmarked the articles of interest to you, you go through the process of docking at Space Station 4242 and selecting the Cargo floor. As your ship descends the tower that makes up the spine of Station 4242, you get up from your seat in the cockpit and wash your face in the bathroom. By the time any evidence of tears are cleared from your face, your ship has arrived at the Cargo floor. You grab the handwritten slip of paper with the contents of the cargo you gave to the cute (and taken) girl, then head out of your ship. Sat on the crate like when you first saw him is the boss. A cigar is in his mouth, almost like it's one of his facial features. He takes notice of you immediately and the silent look in his eyes beckons you to come forward.

Arn strode across that floor again over to the man. He offered up the forms. "Got the boxes delivered." The statement was curt, short. Arn's mind was wandering. After a moment, he spoke without thinking. "Are there any shipments you need delivered to the Jaota sector?" He looked up into the man's eyes again.

The man holds up his hand to signal you to stop talking. His cigar still in his mouth, he removes a strange card-shaped device with a screen from his pocket. Pointing it at you, he taps a few buttons on his screen. The device beeps an angry beep, and the man frowns. He stares into your eyes for a moment and seems to see something in you. He gestures for you to stay put, and gets up from the crate. He walks off, then returns a few minutes later. He holds out an identical card-shaped device to you. With his free hand, he removes his cigar, blows a bit of smoke out, and speaks. "Credit Card. You need for money transaction. Push button." Looking at the Credit Card, it is indeed shaped like a card. It's roughly the size of a cell phone from Earth. While it's thin, it seems very sturdy. The Credit Card is a dark grey piece of technology. At the top of it is some sort of sensor. On the side is a grey button, just like the man had pointed out. The Credit Card also has a screen of some sort on it, much like a cell phone. But, the screen seems to be switched off right now.

Arn watched the man as he moved about and could not stifle a shiver when he stared into him. The explorer was young, and quite a pushover. He stared at the card the man showed him. "Alright," was his only word as he did as he was told, pressing the button on the strange "Credit Card." He said nothing else.

Upon pushing the button, the screen on the Card switches on. A bit of text pops up. "Welcome [unknown user]. You currently have 40 credits. Would you like to set up your profile now, or do it later?" There are two options at the bottom of the touchscreen which read "Now" and "Later." Your current employer sits back down on his crate and watches you as he pushes his cigar back between his lips. You can feel his cold eyes staring down at you, scanning you for any sort of weakness in stature or poise.

Arn straightened himself up. He hit the "Now" button and looked from the "card" to his employer, then back to the card again. "I know I'm doing this, Sir, but... As I asked before, do you have any shipments going to the Jaota Sector?" He trained his eyes on the employer for a moment, glancing back to the card now and then.

"Jaota dangerous. Need guns. Need extra trigger-fingers. I will provide. No fear?" the man asks you. The screen switches to a place where you'll set up your profile. A holographic keyboard appears just below the Credit Card for you to enter in your options. As well as asking for you to input your name, gender, birthday, and species, the Credit Card asks for permission to scan either your fingerprint or your retina. It seems it'll use one of those things to verify your identity.

As Arn looked at the man again, he was perplexed by his strange grammar. He didn't let it show. "Er.. Yes, Sir. I'm not afraid to go into the Jaota Sector. I'm fully aware of the dangers." He went back to his Card and filled it out. "Arnold Jaeger - Male - November 15, 7974 - Human [Earth]" After this, he selected the Retina Scan and raised the card, allowing it to scan the icy blue field of his eyes.

(The current Earth year is 2199, the current Universal year is 7099.) You fill out the information on the Credit Card using the holographic keyboard that had popped out from the bottom. After doing so, you choose to allow the Card to take a retinal scan. Shortly after this, you bring the card up to your eye, and a few blue lasers pop out of the screen to scan your eye. It seems to only be interested in scanning one of your eyes, however. After you've finished this, the screen spends a bit of time loading, and some text pops up. "Profile created. Welcome: Arnold Jaeger. You have 10 credits. You may begin transactions with other Credit Card holders by pointing this Card at the holder and selecting 'Pay,' then selecting the amount to pay. Any money to be sent to you will pop up on this screen for you to accept." Seeing that you've finished, the man on the crate speaks up. "Money from delivery in your Card already. Next delivery will be worth more. Be very careful," the man tells you. He gets up from his crate and walks off, gesturing for you to stay put. A few moments pass, and he returns carrying a stack of metal crates, each one with a warning logo on it. "Munitions," he explains to you, "dangerous. Be careful. Where is your ship?"

((10? Did it take out some for the account creation?)) Arn stared at the card. He felt... new. And overwhelmed. He made sure not to let it show to his employer as he turned and pocketed his new savings account. When the man returned, Arn quickly pointed across the corridor and into the deck holding the Enterprise. He started walking and, when the man followed, offered to take a couple of the crates.
