A modern day power rp where there is a logical reason why you have your powers, and a sort of plot that allows major/minor plots to develope as the main one progresses |

I had an idea for one where character gained powers depending on how much of a certain drug they took. The drug would require constant absorption, in order for the powers to remain strong. However, it also turned the characters into drug addicts - as without the drug, they would lose their powers. As a result, even the most celebrated superheroes would cast dark shadows, given the fact they would have to purchase the underground drug from a dealer.
But the dynamic were difficult for me to figure out, so I never made. |

Well, the general idea/plot of The Boys is; What happens when you give random people random powers? Do they become super heroes? No. Villains? Nope, not that either.
They just act like a bunch of asses.
Powers are gained either through random genetics or through use of a chemical (Also only 1 random power,) which introduces 'The Boys,' whom take this chem to basically 'put down' anyone unable to control their gift and potentially causing harm to others.
Only problem would be trying to figure out a main plot to work in RP form. |

oh yeah
op i also remember an rp i made with a buncha people a long time ago, spellbound.
basic gist was that people had powers through these magic rings but like the rings were actually trapped magicians with limited magic, they could like use one or two powers but thats p much it.
but the way im explaining it actually it sounds cliche so whatever

What about an RP where no one has powers. Everyone is a vigilante using pretty average weapons, but one day, a villain will make a machine thing to give himself powers and takes over the world. The villains and vigilantes, who all have no powers, get captured. Now, the playable characters are the vigilantes who managed to escape and they need to try and stop the powered villain.

I actually have decent-ish idea for one. The gist is that the world is basically video game, that sucks you in for one life. you can't "quit" and you can only lose by dying. Only problem is that no one knows they're in a video game till they wake up and remember their session. In the reality it would take like, on second.
The game is run with this little thing called "Game Consoles" that cannot be taken away from any player, and take two forms: A watch, which can also tell time as well as being a game console, and a little tablet, which one can de-materialise and re-materialise at will. If bound, they can use it with their mind. Same with the watch.
There are also "Cheat Codes" that can be found or bought, but not given freely, that do various crap and might give you a bonus in real life.
Enter, one of the two main factions: The Hackers.
They find and collect cheat codes for selling and/or black market trading.
Since this is illegal, the game also has "Admins"
People that are basically, the police. They aren't like video game police, they actually don't have control over the game. But over time, "The game" had a government, much like our own. (The game doesn't need a title cause its so big. It's just a great big the.)
And then there's the players, a sub-group of people who haven't chosen yet.
This sub-group also has sub groups, as well a the hackers but not the admins.
Trolls and nobs and crap like that.
As for the plot, they're in an arms race for "The Code" Which can take away your Game Console, or give it back. I haven't worked that part out.
There you go a powers RP that covers all your bases.
It' modern. Even a little bit into the future.. Actualy a long way.
There are powers (Game consoles, and even cheats)
As far as i know, it is way not cliche.
And the powers are explained. (Cheat codes and game consoles.)
Only problem is, i'm not active enough to keep it up.
Also this would be devided into sub-forums, for the hackers, players, and admins. |

On a slightly unrelated note, would unintentional time travel be considered a power? Because I've adapted an idea that I checked a while ago and I think it's ready to turn into an ISRP. Since the RP Tim and I have been writing isn't being released until January I thought that something like this would keep me (and hopefully someone else) busy. |

A power is any unusual or unnatural ability one has that can effect different properties of almost any matter. So, yeah. |
