No. It's not. It's about a Mary Sue pissing about several online games and amassing both a bland, super-devoted love interest, and a harem at the same time. It also features an author who doesn't understand how MMOs work and a plot that is tailored to be bent by our protagonist.
My advice? Just watch Log Horizion instead. It's pretty much the same concept, but it's better in pretty much every single way.

if you're trying to get into anime and you're into action, death note/attack on titan/fullmetal alchemist: brotherhood would probably be a lot better.
i've heard a lot of negative things about sword art so i wouldn't recommend it
