Before I continue, a bit about myself. 1) I can script and build. 2) I only make games with filtering, meaning no exploiters. 3) I try to make every game I create look and feel like it was made by professionals. Now let's talk about an RPG. Ever since I played Lords of Nomrial (check it out) here on roblox, I've wanted to make an RPG. The game isn't that deep, but it was still fun. I've been wanting to make one for a while, but never really did it. Recently I've been thinking about it, but what would the details be? The most popular RPG game right now is World of Warcraft. I've never played it, but if I understand right it's an open world, and you can repeatedly kill monsters to get xp and gold, correct me if I'm wrong. You can also do some sort of multiplayer match, do a "dungeon raid" (not sure what that is), and more. A game I have played is Path of Exile, where you have a top-down camera and you follow the storyline closely as you level up, and the goal is to get good gear. It's also singleplayer. Both games are similar because you try to make your character good as possible, but they are very different when you're playing. Which makes me ask: What would my own game be like? Would it be a large open world like WOW? Or a singleplayer storydriven game with small maps like Path of Exile? I'd like to hear what everyone thinks, whether you've played a lot of RPG's before or not. Here's what I've decided on so far, nothing is final: - Every level up you get a set amount of health added. - You can collect armor for your character from killing npcs or buying it. I'm planning to just have upperbody armor and lowerbody, and you can mix combinations. They both provide stats. Not sure what I'll do for the head, like if it would provide stats, how would you get it etc. - I'm not planning on doing an in game npc shop for gold, it makes the game less fun. An auction house would be much better. Here are the categories I've come up with. They determine what kind of game I'd be making. 1) Will it be singleplayer or multiplayer? (When you're fighting monsters and taking quests will others be there with you?) 2) Will the gameplay be primarly storydriven? Playing through a storyline would be different on multiplayer. It would be told through "dungeons" and "raids" (that's how I'm guessing other RPG's do it). 3) What would the multiplayer be like? This would be included for both singleplayer & multiplayer. You would use your character to fight. What gamemodes? 4) What would the storyline be? 5) Can you play as any race? Storyline will determine if races are a thing or not. 6) What kind of skills could you upgrade? 7) How would spells work? Would each spell have a set cooldown, or would they take from a mana bar like in PoE, that all of your spells draw from? How would you gain spells? Devproducts: Minimal pay to win is how I would set it up. You wouldn't be able to buy gold. Inflation would make gold tricky anyway. The only pay to win products would be ones where you have to earn skillfully in some way. Nothing on that yet. The game will cost either 25, 50, or 100 Robux. First, it supports the game in a very simple way. Secondly, and most importantly, it prevents random people from down voting for no reason. There's probably much more than just those categories listed above. Because I'm not extremely experienced in RPG's, I appreciate any help. All I need at this stage is ideas & inspiration. Like the title says, I'm at the drawing board, and my goal is to create an RPG where you don't get bored and the game feels immersive.

How about a more futuristic RPG? Not like Destiny, because there story line is bad, but like Destiny, because I like the ideas for fighting. If you don't like the idea of futuristic, than do something that has to do with something old, like set it in a time period that would be interesting. Also add cool features, but that are easy to use. Also make the best 'HUD' stuff you can. The GUIs of a game is what makes it best. -SE

I can provide sound services for nearly anything you could possibly need within reason; @Captin is absolutely correct in saying sounds make a game they really do.

Lore would be most helpful at this moment, because I can create a storyline from it.

Would multiplayer or singleplayer be more fun? Multiplayer + Play with friends + More of an Open world - More possible lag due to AI - Harder to tell storyline, except through NPC Quests and similar. Singleplayere + More dynamic fights and maps + Easier to tell a storyline + Little lag - More of a closed world, you load in maps as you explore As I post stuff, if you're reading, just say your opinion on whatever. It helps.

There should be multiplayer as an economy is key to a successful RPG with replayability and a strong end game. I would suggest the story be told in instanced quests and just manage your lag with small buildings, well designed meshes and limit your blocks.

Actually, Multiplayer AND Singleplay would be great! If you've ever played Destiny or Halo, or ANY games like that, you can invite players to your Fireteam, and then you can play any mission you want. They'll also follow you and then help you. If there's anyway I can help out, I can Game test and Build pretty well. No, I don't have a showcase, but I have a place I am working on right now that I think the building is pretty well. No detail has been put into it. I honestly do not expect pay UNLESS the game ends up making a profit. I like how it all sounds though!

I'd like to see a medieval/fantasy MMORPG. Maybe have some singleplayer quests, and some co-op quests.

Plus the incorporation of player-made/run guilds, or armies.

Could you also consider like some sort of guild-controlled fortresses or camps for minigame(s) and/or skilling? That would be more engaging and coolio.

When I saw the title, I thought it was going to be an RP on a drawing board. Where you like, draw things and RP.
