Before I begin, I would like to make a couple things clear:
1. This thread is my opinion of the problem of the WWII community of ROBLOX. Therefore it is subjective, and people will have conflicting views. I am fine with this, as almost everything in life is subjective (with the exception of math).
2. This thread is a summation of my experiences in the WWII genre for 3-4 months. I know it may be long, but I urge people to read it, especially if they are involved in WWII clans and groups. They need to be aware of the biggest problem facing their community.
Without further ado, I shall begin.
▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬
The WWII genre of ROBLOX is probably one of the most controversial areas in all of ROBLOX. The Allied groups always ask themselves "Is this Axis group too much over the edge?" or "How can we create a good WW2 community without these "nooby" Axis groups?" The truth is that they can't! In order to create a thriving community and genre, they NEED the Axis groups! However, many of these groups get banned in a few weeks or even days. The Axis leaders blame the Allied leaders, and all foundations of mutual respect and trust are vanquished. The WW2 genre is reduced to becoming a personal "argument" between Allied and Axis clan leaders.
The Axis Groups:
Throughout the 3-4 months I spent in the WWII community, I ended up joining 14 Axis clans. The first Axis group I joined was banned within a week. This forced me to jump to another Axis clan which suffered the same fate. The cycle kept repeating, and finally I was able to join RudolfModel's Bayern group which has not been banned yet. The Axis groups of ROBLOX are predominately WW2 German groups, with the exception of a few Italian groups, and maybe 1 Japanese group. These German groups seem to be based off of some type of "template". For example, many are owned by group holders because the actual leader does not want to get banned. Furthermore, these German groups have to put up disclaimers saying that they are "Not racist" and "Accept all ethnicities" to prevent their group from being banned sooner. This is shameful, as it should be common sense. However, many don't understand that, and immediately rush to the report buttons. I agree, Germany did horrible things during the Second World War. Some of those things should not be reenacted, and should be banned on ROBLOX. That being said however, a simple German Military group which just exists in order to create a more authentic community should not be looked down upon.
The Allied Groups:
If you think it gets better here, it doesn't. The Allied groups on ROBLOX are based off of WWII American, British, and Soviet forces. Their hypocritical leaders claim to have no "real" opponent. That's because most of the successful Axis clans they see are reported by Allied leaders and collaborators. Allied leaders report WWII Axis groups claiming that they are racist and have names of units that committed war crimes. War is war. It is told through the eyes of the victors, not the defeated. Both the Allied forces and the Axis forces were responsible for committing war crimes. Apart from that, most of the Allied clans seem to be doing alright. I enjoyed some trainings at "US Military 1940's" and at "Allied Airborne (they hardly raid groups which I find strange).
The Problem:
The main problem resides in the lack of trust, and organization between the Axis and Allied groups. If they want to create a successful genre and community, they must work together in order to make it appealing and fun. Allied leaders should not hide behind their report buttons and Axis leaders must understand not to "cross the line" in terms of creating reenactment groups based on infamous units. There also needs to be more Japanese groups and Italian groups out there! I found the Italian group I was in to be pretty neat, and I still have to experience a good Japanese clan. WWII was not just the European Theatre. Even though that is the most exciting, the Pacific theatre also had some huge battles which would be awesome to play on ROBLOX. Overall, the WWII community in ROBLOX needs a lot of fixing up before it can become a thriving genre. Axis and Allied leaders must learn to work together and respect one another.

And that's all!

The WW2 genre is basically no man's land. I wouldn't even call it a community. |
|
|
It is just barely a community. Not held together very well. |

What people don't get is that the Allied Nations high command held many secrets away from us, who knows, the Allied Nations can be just as bad as the Axis! ROBLOX banning these groups are atrocious - the admins are scripters, not historians! I thought the possibilities are endless in ROBLOX? Seems they really do have big limits. |

Some of their limits are reasonable. Others are not, I agree. |

WW2 genre needs new leaders, that is certain. Unless old leaders can change their ways. |
