They don't determine what you want your career to be, but they do determine if people actually want to hire you. Example: My mother passed WSU (Washington State University) with a 98%, and she was hired for a job 2 months before her final classes even ended due to her extremely good accomplishments and exemplary work efforts. She also received a $12K sign on bonus for her job that she herself asked for. I'm not saying everyone can be like this, but saying grades don't impact you as long as it is not an F is a really silly thing to say. The unseen ban is the deadliest.
