i could
a. just do it and risk rejection and not being friends anymore or anything
b. dont do it and risk being friendzoned forever and having to be jealous whenever she gets a date

i don't know, maybe wait a bit and find a better time
you do have a significant advantage because 1) you're confident and 2) you've been friends for years
i doubt she'd stop being your friend if she rejected you, then again i dont know the situation well enough to be able to accurately depict the scenario
