i find so much fun in using mods in games. for example, gta iv is a boring game on its own, but if you download a load of mods it becomes so much fun. i mean, sure, it is, but overrated in a good way. |

I've made Skyrim look ridiculously realistic and made the gameplay 10x better using mods
I will never go back to the vanilla version |

another issue mods bring is devs being lazy due to players being able to fix their game for them |

if a company get's lazy then their fanbase will definitely react badly to that, even with mods to fix it.
most companies strive to have a game that doesn't have to be modded, including bugs and the such.
in a way, they make games better.

but that's sometimes WHY the players make mods, because the devs never fix anything or add content to the game. So then it's left to the modding community to do it. |

mod support however can make a good game

Exactly, it IS the develeper's job, but the devs either put off updates or just abandon the game all together. Plus, sometimes the players do a better job at it than the devs themselves. |

They're a good way to show creativity and give some new fun to a game. Also, isn't it a good way for programmers to learn about designing and whatnot? |

not where I was going
typically games where you get to design levels and stuff work quite good on PC
but I don't think Nintendo ever releases for Nintendo, plus they need they need more Wii U sales anyway |
