Let's straighten this out: I am a male. I am stating this so people don't make misconceptions about my gender, since you stated that I am a female (though that could've been a typo for all I know).
Pop music DID originate from rock. I looked it up, and pop music originates from rock and roll, jazz, doo-wop, folk, and dance music.
And look, I really don't want to keep arguing with you. I completely respect your opinion. If listening to Lady Gaga and Katy Perry is what you enjoy, then that is perfectly fine. But don't go around and randomly insult metal fans just because you happen to hate the genre. You have to realize is that people have emotions, and that if you say that something that they like is "junk", they are going to become upset. If you want to state your opinion that you dislike something, then at least be respectful towards those who do like it. Bandiit's post is a good example of this; he states his opinion about metal without insulting those who do like it. My message is simply this: treat others the way you want to be treated. |

mendezio we all respectyour opinion. well at leasti do. what i don't respect is u calling metal not at all unique. u say pop isunique and thats your opinion. i personallydon't think it is but thats just me. and i know your gonna say "oh thats just your opinion" when i say this, but the truth is :pop is mainstream, it flows with the crowd.it is where the popular people r. thats why people like taylor swift start out as one genre(which is country) and then move to pop. they do that because they start to become popular. now metal on the other hand, is the genre that takes themost talent. i'm sorry but thats a fact. well except for maybejazz and blues they're both about the same. the talent required in metal is far more complicated than pretty much all genres. which i don't know about u but that makes metal pretty unique.
so mendezio your not a bad person for liking pop just don't go around calling other genres trash. and btw i could go onand on aboutwhy i think pop shouldn't be popular and trust zilla has seen it before. but i learned that i really don't actually careif people like pop. |

Ok yes I agree, some pop music did come from classical rock. The type I find most appealing is not studio versions, although I still love them, I like Live flawed performances. Like Justin Bieber I don't like the studio versions of his songs, yet I would be lying if I said that. I do enjoy My Heart Unplugged but that’s beside that point. I like live performances and or acoustic versions (i.e. My Heart Unplugged) and yes I do like his live performances; with is strange because most mainstream artistes stink live. The past couple of days I’ve been watching him and Lady Gaga’s live performances. I didn’t know Lady GaGa had the vocal range she has, I had heard her sing probably my favorite GaGa song, Speechless on the Ellen Show. Now on the other hand I had already saw Justin Bieber sing Favorite Girl / one time, on the Ellen show; Favorite Girl is my most favorite JB song. I had already knew Justin Bieber was on my top ten list, yet when I heard him sing his cover of Someday at Christmas Time for president Barrack Obama, well now he left me Speechless, and sealed a stop on my list in the process.
I can’t agree to respect metal music, but I can agree to respect whom who like it.
I don’t know why I find my self off topic so much? To straiten things out I am Male.

@Colourmine Led Zeppelin is considered to be the first Metal Band.
Although the Se* Pistols are probaly the first HEAVY Metsl band. |

ok mendezio like i said i don't care ifu like pop or if u hate metal. but don't go around saying that metal is not unique. and i'm i know its just my opinion but really it's actually not an opinion, metal is far more unique and talentedthan pop is.
what i'm telling u about my opinion is that yeah it is technically my opinion but, if u can get real for once, it's the truth.for example, america's economy.yeah its technically an opinion that it is doing bad, but if u get real, u know it's true. |

Wait...so now were saying S*x Pistols is the first metal band? The term "heavy metal" was first used with Black Sabbath...Im not saying THEY were the first but I really dont think S*x Pistols were. But ask Zilla he knows every answer to this stuff lol. |

The Pistols were punk, not metal. The first heavy metal bands would be groups like Black Sabbath, Judas Priest, Deep Purple, Led Zeppelin, etc. |
