"difference between programming and scripting languages" Generally, programming languages rely on a compiler to translate the algorithm instructions into Assembly instructions. Scripting languages usually rely on an interpreter built within a program and are embedded within a program to extend the overall functionality. Any languages you learn should be based majorly on personal-necessity. Interest is the remaining factor.

C is good for low level programming and to get a good understanding. Operating systems or whatever. C++ is good for lots of stuff. Lots of games use C++. Idk I only scratched the surface of C.

Html is good; it's used around the world as a high-level language used for AI scripting seen in cognitive learning machines like Watson. Dolanscript is also good.
