"@Red
Oh that's self explanatory. Chivalry didn't even exist between knights; it was derived from "Chevaliere;" Horse Soldiery. They didn't have constables, sheriffs and etc for many, many years. Sure there were guards, but I bring up sieges once again."
you do know you can do everything you posted as long as you live in a decent town/country and have some nearby people who are willing to have a little fun

"Apparently I make a lot of people "cringe" because of my ideals, and due to the current slang spread about by teens."
No, you're just cringe-worthy - slang has nothing to do with it.
" It irritates me that people say such a thing unless you physically perform the action. Someone breaks their face? Suitable for a cringe."
"cringe
krɪn(d)ʒ/
verb
experience an inward shiver of embarrassment or disgust"
You're getting irritated over you misunderstanding the definition, op.

@Khaan
I admit to my mistake. I'm only human.
Anyway, I don't care whatever you call me. I'm content with myself. Now, back to the topic at hand. |

Having to worry about diseases, witch burnings, and the fact that girls were married off as teenagers to older men (arranged marriages) must have been wonderful.
Respect the science! |

Oh and if you were unfortunate enough to have a disability, you couldn't do much at all. If I'm correct, I think they thought that epilepsy was caused by demon possession.
Respect the science! |
|
|
@Ave
Witch burnings were not common until around the renaissance; Joan of Arc was burned at the stake because of heresy, not because of witchcraft.
I haven't know about that, actually. I'll look more into that. The epilepsy. |
|

funny how op has nothing to say about arranged marriages. pretty typical. |

Don't get all feminist with me.
Yes, women were treated poorly back then. They were the links between houses, the baby makers, the decorations, and the like behind men. God created Eve from one of Adams ribs, and so women should be beside men and not behind.
However this was not the case with Celtic tribes, as women, to my knowledge were equal to men. They fought alongside them and worked alongside them.

The night sky can be beautiful with fresh air if you get away from a town or city
Being a serf meant you always had to work for basically nothing on someone else's land, with no voice in the government at all.
The catholic church beleived bathing was harmful, thus leading to all the plagues in the middle ages
There were no antibiotics, with no ways to treat diseases other than to try an unreliable folk method or wait until the person died or somehow got better
The straw houses, were half decent and could survive basic weather, Ill give you that one
There were loads of crimes punishable by death
You could go to prison for paying your taxes/rent a day late
In prison, life was horrible with absolutely no food given to the inmates, no water and the cells had no toilets,were very dark and overall slimy and disgusting, infested with rats and bugs |

"Don't get all feminist with me."
lol what? how am i 'getting feminist' with you for pointing out the flaw in your oh so divine delusion of the past? and you know it too, since you didn't even confront it until two people pointed it out.
this thread is probably a troll. |

@Perpet
Whenever somebody doesn't talk about a topic brought up because of a female being affiliated, they think it's typical as they don't matter. I'm digging my own grave even responding to it.
And no, this is not a troll post. It is my honest opinion on the times based on research. |
|
|
"as they don't matter" - before you point that out.
They think the person responding believes females are inferior to men, so they don't reply because they think it's not worth their time. |
|
|
So you think the Middle Ages was better? *cough* Black *cough* Death |
|
|
@The
The Black Death wasn't until around the high and late middle ages. I would rather live around the 12th and early 13th. |

Well, if you were the 2% of the nobles or 1% of the clerics, life was great.
HELP, THE FILTER IS DESTRO#### |

@qua
Only thing I can say is that no, they did not believe bathing was bad. There were numerous sayings, and even codecs written about it, as I have stated.
Everything else is pretty much true. |

"You could actually sit in a chair, and look off towards the forest at night with little to no worry of some nuclear blast killing everyone on earth."
Instead you would actually worrying about an encroaching Mongol horde, invading Turks, or crazy Teutonic knights invading you |
