@Sykler Everyone said that about the Red Wings, Canadiens, AND Rangers last year Lightning were predicted to get destroyed the first round and besides we're barely half-way through the season, things can change hell look at the canadiens they went from #1 down to practically nothing Stay thirsty my friends.

I think people keep saying the caps will win because of their current ranking. The caps and Ovechkin ALWAYS choke in the playoffs, even if they are good in the regular season. Honestly I could see Panthers @ Stars in the cup Stay thirsty my friends.

"I think people keep saying the caps will win because of their current ranking. The caps and Ovechkin ALWAYS choke in the playoffs, even if they are good in the regular season." First off, lol. Second, the only time the Caps have legitimately choked in the playoffs was 2010 when we were the presidents trophy winners and got smacked by Halak and 8th seeded Canadiens in the first round. That series basically sent us down hill for the next few seasons, until we brought in Trotz and Mitch Korn. People keep saying the Caps will win because the Washington Capitals are finally a complete team; 4 offensive lines, 3 defensive lines, 1 elite starting goaltender, and 1 solid backup. (Elements that we have not had since our cup lost) Case closed. "Honestly I could see Panthers @ Stars in the cup" Honestly, I think you're saying that because of their current rankings. Panthers will get taken out by the Tampa Bay Lightning for sure and so will Montreal if Price returns soon enough to carry them back into the playoffs. The Stars, they will be taken out by Chicago somewhere down the stretch and if they manage to sneak by, LA will do the job. Solid defense can always over power elite offense.

I feel like people are over rating Tampa Bay a bit. I know they have recovered and probablyou will make the playoffs, but I just don't think they will get really far.
