Many of you suggested I use raycast instead of projectile, so I implemented that, as well as changing the arm script updating from 0.1 seconds to 0.01 seconds.
I like hearing feedback, but do keep in mind this game is modified after the Resident Evil 4 control scheme |

"changing the arm script updating from 0.1 seconds to 0.01 seconds."
you should really just use RenderStepped, it'll update as fast as possible
you can't wait for 0.01 seconds |

I'm still new to lua, so RenderStepped is something I haven't picked up yet |

even if you were able to wait for 0.01 seconds effectively it would be worse than ~0.03, you'd miss frames
fun fact |

Well, point me to a good source to read up on it |

Btw, I'd recommend you make the laser project just a few studs before fading out. It looks unrealistic and just sloppy when it doesn't align with the dot. |

Yeah, the reason that's a problem is because the laser comes from the tool itself, while the red dot is a reference point for your mouse |

Well, I added a bit of an offset to hopefully line it up better. It's not going to look perfect, but it'll look a lot better now. |

What I mean is that the laser beam effect should only project a short distance, it looks better that way IMO. |

Yeah, I was thinking about that, but at the same time if you're targeting something far away, due to the fog it's hard enough to see the dot as is, and I still want to promote teamwork IE: if your friend is far away and aiming at something, you should be able to see what he's aiming at if you're close enough to it |
|
|
You might want to draw the beam from the gun to the dot, rather than just wherever, so it aligns correctly. |

Easier said than done, really |
