When using the instance 'tool'? I don't think so. You could always make it when they equip the tool you make there backpack visible = false but there might be some downsides to it that I'm unaware of.

^ that would destroy the 'handle' too as the 'handle' would obviously be a child of the instance of 'tool'

You could always make the weapon tool-less. (without using the instance tool).
