Whenever I try to join a ROBLOX game, I always get an error. Tried reinstalling ROBLOX, tried installing Windows 10 media pack, even tried downloading just the dll. Nothing worked, still having this problem. Error: "The program can't start because WMVCore.DLL is missing from your computer. Try reinstalling the program to fix this problem."

Ha ha, just download the .dll and place it into your ROBLOX files. If you can't uninstall ROBLOX. I'll look into this and see if I can find the dll..

"just download the .dll and place it into your ROBLOX files." Where are the ROBLOX files? I can't find them in Program Files nor AppData.

I've been talking w/ ROBLOX support for the past couple of days. Here's everything I've tried; -Uninstalling and reinstalling ROBLOX -Installing W10 media pack -Manually adding the DLL into the ROBLOX appdata (gives me an unable to start error if I do that and run ROBLOX) -Clearing out the Roblox AppData folder -Removing all previous Roblox installer files from my computer Any ideas?

Yes. Find the Robloxplayer icon if you have it installed, right click and "Open File location". Download the DLL and make sure you put it on the Desktop. That way you can see it everytime you close all of your programs. Right click on the DLL and Copy it, when you do, make sure you paste it in the File Location of ROBLOXPlayer. Then uninstall it, and re-install it.

Put the "WMVCore.DLL" into this folder. C:\Windows\System32\ It will ask you for permission or something under those lines.

@durp Will try, thanks. @Xphony Forgot to say, already did that and it's currently in System32.

Okay, so did some digging around with various things, and I was able to trigger a new event. With the said dll downloaded from the internet, once I placed it into System32, I got the error: "The application was unable to start correctly (0xc000007b)." Once I removed the DLL I got the same "WMVCore.DLL is missing" error. So it's either one of two things; 1) The DLL I got was corrupted or incompatible 2) ROBLOX launcher is finding System32, but is not utilizing the DLL properly Don't know what to do from here.

are you running with admin permissions? mv /home/siggy /dev/null

By the way, this is only triggered if I try to open ROBLOX Studio. On a Chrome based browser the regular launcher will tell me to install ROBLOX even though I have it installed (I have tried reinstalling multiple times with multiple different methods). On IE or Firefox, the game loading popup appears, however once it disappears it does not open ROBLOX.

@durp just tried that. Now I added the DLL to System32 again, but it's not picking it up. Now I have the same error of the DLL being missing.

So I was able to fix the problem by installing an earlier version of the Windows 10 media feature pack (for reference I downloaded the November 2015 version), restarting my computer, then deleting the Roblox AppData folder and re-installing ROBLOX. For some reason it keeps telling me to install ROBLOX when I use Chrome, but it works fine in IE (and I suspect it would work in Firefox). Thanks for all your help though @durp.
