My school does this thing with seniors called "mock interview " where you are interviewed by people at real estate companies, banks, and stuff. Problem is, the interviewers are extremely critical and have no qualms about telling someone they look trashy or they interview poorly or stuff like that. I'm afraid that I'll do poorly on it, and they'll criticize me over my stutter, the fact that I bite my nails, my lack of coordination, my hearing sensitivities, really any of my quirks that might make me unqualified. My parents keep telling me not to stress, but it's hard not to. One girl showed up with too much makeup and the interviewer make a comment about her being on the streets. They also heavily criticized a boy who wore blue jeans, despite the fact that he didn't have any dressy clothes to wear. How to not be stressed? Respect the science!

Pretend your sick on that day. It's not like those interviews will effect the chances of you getting a job.

Why would an interview judge you on your clothes? That's stupid. What happened to getting a job through experience, not whether or not you're wearing blue jeans.

@xdude, you've obviously never worked somewhere. Wearing a baseball cap, jordans, and a plain shirt to a interview can say A LOT of you.
