So, as you all may know, some things have changed with the salaries this week, including buying out contracts and having to pay half of the remaining salary. However, owners will only have to pay for the current season if more than half of the season remains. Fortunately for the owners, the halfway point is quickly approaching. The official halfway mark of the regular season is after game #28 (this Thursday at 8:00 PM ET). After that game ends, it will be free to buyout any 1-year contract, and for any contract more than one year, the owner will not have to pay for the current season, just the one or two seasons after. Also, the trade deadline will be on Saturday at 4:00 PM ET. After the deadline, no trades (of any kind) or additions to the team will be permitted.
