Before you say "tl;dr" and flare me, stop yourself. This takes less than 5 minutes to read, child.
--This is the TIX portion, scroll down to see R15--
Removing tix is indeed the biggest leap ROBLOX has ever made, but it's the most important one. ROBLOX's virtual economy is a huge portion of the platform. In the past years, there has been a HUGE inflation, because LMaDers and developers manipulating tickets to be worth nothing.
Removing tickets will fix ROBLOX's economy. The trade currency ratio is 20 tickets for 1 ROBUX, when it used to be 8 tickets for 1 ROBUX. Bots were also used for the daily login bonus.
You're going to say "oh but what about the NBCers?" NBC users won't get daily login bonuses anymore, but they will still be rewarded (with ROBUX, mind you) for doing other things on the site or in-game, like badges for ROBUX.
If you claim that ROBLOX is greedy or I'm greedy because I'm OBC, that's where you're wrong. ROBLOX uses every penny it makes to help improve the platform. It has to pay for huge servers, employees, an office, developers, and much much more. You may say they do keep money, yes, but in the long run it all comes back to help the platform. I'm not greedy if I have OBC, because I'm spending $20 per month to help ROBLOX. It's YOU guys who are greedy for wanting free things without contributing to the platform at all.
As for developers, they're not hit at all. Sponsored games use ROBUX, not tickets. Their income from tickets counts for less than 5% of the money they earn. DevEx uses ROBUX, not tickets. Your favorite developers like loleris, taymastar, litozinnamon, and CloneTrooper1019, aren't affected at all.
If you're still concerned about buying clothes on the catalog, keep in mind that many items are free and will be free in the future. The price floor was also lowered to 5 ROBUX.
--R15--
R15 is another huge but important update for ROBLOX. Going from lego people to realistic packages to bending limbs has been very controversial on ROBLOX in the old community. But, ROBLOX isn't your friendly lego-like company anymore. ROBLOX is striving for REALISM now. Look at some examples (not in order):
-Smooth Terrain
-Terrain Biome Generation
-Custom Particles
-Shaders (see the hack week blog)
-3.0 Characters
-Neon Materials
R15 is up next on that list.
As an animator, I'm very fond with people having used bending limbs in ROBLOX characters before. I myself didn't use them, but I knew how they worked. People loved animations like that. I don't understand why it can't be the same for ROBLOX.
If you say it's ugly, keep in mind that the demo is a very bad demo. It's a heavy WIP and many improvements will come in the future. The gap between parts will be filled. It'll be reanimated. Hats and packages and clothing will work.
Again, ROBLOX is striving for realism now. This is one of the most realistic things that ROBLOX has to offer yet. Animators will be given more freedom to make realistic animations. Clothes designers will be given something better to work with. Human gestures will make it realistic, as well as clothing.
If you still are unconvinced, keep in mind that you have the option to choose between R15 and R6.

Your points are valid. I'm pretty sure most are complaining because they don't know or understand what the replacement will be for NBC players. |

I agree, people need to realize the actual point of things, and while I'll miss my place visit tickets it'll be fine in the end. You get used to all the updates, good and bad, Roblox makes if you've been on for a long time.

i particularly like that nbcer's will still be rewarded for achievements, because that was my main gripe, but;
regarding r15, i dont know if its because of nostalgia but i kind of liked the stiff movements, it reminded me of stopmotion animations and that was the main reason i joined roblox was because of how cool it looked with the anims
on top of that, it breaks packages and i dunno if roblox is gonna go through the pain of fixing every single package they've released |
|
|
Are favorite developers aren't affected?
Thanks to tix removal, none of the nbc developers will get the community to know about their game and our favorite developers will hoard the front page forever. |
|
|
Good Arguement. But Many NBC Players Do Not Want To Do All These Tasks To Get Free Robux...They Want To Play. So Why Not Reward Them For Playing. Not Having To Build Things They Do Not Want To Build. |

I've heard that developer-made packages, hats and gear will be added at around the time R15 is going to be implemented fully, as well as "expanding the types of accessories that you can wear on your avatar" whatever that will give us. Some people are saying rewards may be implemented at around a similar time. But what I really like about what's going to come out with R15 is the proper support for custom body parts and animations for them - time to making giant space spiders and other insane things.
"Thanks to tix removal, none of the nbc developers will get the community to know about their game and our favorite developers will hoard the front page forever."
There many ways to advertise without spending money. Actually, for ROBLOX ads I rarely see place ads, most of the ad system is hoarded by the groups while top developers are busy getting real money from R$ instead. Here's a thread on advertising I've made: https://forum.roblox.com/Forum/ShowPost.aspx?PostID=185639803 |

R15 sucks though. Arms don't bend, they're just 2 different blocks as an arm. |

The latest R15 port supports hats and clothes and the animations are a lot smoother (jumping is still iffy, however, but a big improvement from previous iterations), as are the joints as well.
Personally, I can't wait for R15. It'll save me the trouble of making my own Rig.

@BloxaBrick That's what a bending limb is. There are 2 joints (shoulder and elbow), to give the illusion of one brick bending. |

"but they will still be rewarded (with ROBUX, mind you) for doing other things on the site or in-game, like badges for ROBUX."
were actually not getting any robux for daily tasks
they said absolutely nothing about giving nbcers robux on the blog
they said we were getting hats for daily tasks
for shirts and pants i guess were stuck with the crap roblox makes free

Another addition: you'll still have a lot to work with because there are groups like NBC shirt creators, and many clothing creators are making their things free. You can also begin to create almost anything you want because MeshParts are becoming a thing again. |
|
|
"there are groups like NBC shirt creators, and many clothing creators are making their things free."
nbcers cant make shirts or pants in groups anymore roblox fixed that
you cant put shirts or pants free but im assuming youre talking about how people giving roblox shirts/pants to put free
this still limits character design alot because very little has been put free
and whats been put free wouldnt appeal to everyone because theres way too many things people want
theres no way to get already made shirts/pants if the creators are banned (also unlikely that theyll just give that specific shirt or pants to roblox)
if you want to look like a certain thing (like take a soldier for example) then too bad because youre stuck with the shirts or pants roblox makes free (and you would have to be lucky enough for roblox to make a matching hat thats also free)

Firstly, way to necro an ancient thread. Secondly, since this is just a copypaste of the last thread, I'll copypaste my reply in:
As a developer myself, let me say that I want my place visit bonus back. I really don't care if it was only 5% of my income, it was still income. How would you like to take a 5% reduction to your paycheck just because "it's really not that much"?
As for big developers? Phantom forces has been around for 8 months and racked up over 47 million place visits. At the 20 ticket exchange rate, that converts to 2.35 million ROBUX. Yes, it probably pales in comparison to the ROBUX they get from developer products. But do you seriously want to tell me that 2.35 million ROBUX is insignificant?
And about those NBCs - the ones you love to hate on for adding "nothing to the platform"? They only got the equivalent of 1 ROBUX every 2 days. They got in an entire month the equivalent of what even the most basic BC gets in a single day. They were dirt poor as it is and got even that taken away from them, and when they politely ask ROBLOX to stop crapping on them and maybe let them buy a shirt or a gamepass every few weeks, you have the audacity to complain that they're "greedy"?
Here's the reality. Most of ROBLOX's income comes from ads - they're paid based on views, not clicks. Who sees those ads? The NBCs. Only. Who makes up the (vast) majority of the site? The NBCs. Your BC purchase is in the minority, around 15% of their total profits. And by your logic, if a 5% cut shouldn't affect developers, a 15% cut shouldn't affect ROBLOX. In other words - your "$20 a month" doesn't matter one bit. The only reason tickets were removed is because if everybody converted to BC, they'd make more money than they do off of ad revenue. They're trying to force NBCs to shell out for BC by destroying the free user experience.
In closing, I want to comment on you personally, OP. You disgust me. You, and every other "UH (AKA your mom) PAID AND YEE DIDNTZ" poster all act so high and mighty and think you're entitled to deny the majority of the userbase the ability to even change their clothes because you threw a minuscule amount of money at an online game. Why SHOULD they pay for that? Why should they surrender money to a company that - quite bluntly - doesn't give a single damn about their experience and sees them as nothing but a walking credit card? I guarantee you that if you and every other BC on this site stopped paying, ROBLOX would still be just fine without your paltry "contributions" to their platform. Stop acting like you're God's gift to ROBLOX and stop acting like you're better than your NBC brethren because Mommy gave you her PIN number.
Anyway, as for the R15 stuff, I've got nothing to say there. If I have a choice not to use it, I don't see any reason to get rid of it. Just make sure it's not like Legacy mode where there's only a "choice" until ROBLOX decides there shouldn't be one. |

There's a big freakin gab on the elbow of the limbs. They have to be one block with multiple skeleton rigs. |

@BloxaBrick
That was the first version of R15. There are no gaps, anymore.

I posted my counter-thread, STOP. YOU DO NOT KNOW WHAT ROBLOX IS DOING. |
|

There are still two blocks. I'd rather have the final expectation be like the players from the Lego games. |

Visually, yes, there are two bricks, but if you use Studio's Explorer window to view your character, it's still listed as only six parts.
