Whenever I log in, I look at my messages and notice I have one new. Then it turns out to be a person pretty much copying and pasting or botting a message into my inbox asking me to join X clan, or join a group. I have to leave my PMs turned on as I have group applications through the system.
So, how can we stop this?
Well, there are a couple of ways.
Option 1: A simple message keyword blocker. Adding a few words commonly used in group messages to the filter currently used. Words like 'Military' and 'Army' are most commonly used in these messages, and no one else wouldnormally use these in a PM, unless it is an application form for something, and those words are not commonly used in application forms anyway.
Option 2: Decide what can and cannot be sent to your inbox. In user settings, there should be an option to not recieve links in PMs, and any PMs with links in them be sent to a spam inbox, and the number of messages would not rise on the sidebar if spam messages were sent.
To get hold of friends, i tend to use party chat, but due to group applications i cannot add everyone as a friend and get them to party me.

Okay. Well, tell me how else groups are gonna get members.
Not everyone can afford an ad...

Group funds can be used to purchase ads. Simply produce shirts, then people in the group can buy them, then the ad money goes up.
also, many group owners are BC members, so why would they not be able to afford ads? |

Well, what if the group has got, let's say, 10 members?
They wouldn't have a lot of group funds to afford the ads. |

support it gets really annoying
ive even stopped playing games like phantom forces because i get like 15 messages from group idiots who cant make an ad
i could disable messages but what if an actual human being wants to message me? then what will they do?

You can set your PM settings to "Friends, Users I follow, and Followers"
and there u have it. a block to spammers. |

that doesn't stop them from following me though.

There's a problem with both of those options.
In option one, normal people who discuss the army/military would still get blocked.
In option two, inviting players to private servers would be difficult. |

or we could just put it down as against the rules and give some nice 1 day bans to those who continue spamming

go to your messages
unless you are lucky enough to avoid anything or have kept your message settings too closed to actually make communication work
you likely have tens of spam messages filling it
it is disgusting and ruins the private messaging system |

kek just reply with "spambotting is against roblox rules and can get both you and your group deleted"
gets most of them offended and salty and they will almost instantly start whining that they aren't spambotting |
