It seems that, in my opinion, Roblox is getting worse and worse, or at least more controversial, with every update. At first when I saw the Team Create update, I was very surprised in how good Roblox was making their system. But, as with every damned update that comes out these days, there is a part that makes me want to question why Roblox is so illogical.
Adding Team Create, good, great, I don't make games in studio so it doesn't really concern me.
But removing PBS servers?
I will start out with myself personally, because I can't be the only one who feels this way for the same reasons.
The reason, or at least the primary reason I have remained on this site is a game me and my friends play, and we LOVE playing it. It is a personal building server, and it would...never work as a Team Create thing, mostly because we roleplay, build, and "act" out our events. I can't exactly entirely explain why it wouldn't work, but...
Well, the tools we use is another thing, but that's not important.
Personally, I also prefer being able to build and do other things, such as have gear wars, at the same time. I am unable to do this with this update's arrival.
I also find that the tools in PBS servers (for example, build v4, a very useful tool for constructing a place) are MUCH easier to use than the things in studio. They include features that will not be able to be used in Team Create as well.
My point is, Team Create is a step in the right direction, but the removal of personal servers serves no benefit to the site and instead actually hinders it and its users.
I know Roblox never checks the S&I forum and implements ideas...But do consider.
Post your support, or no support. If you don't support tell me why.

Err, have you not read the blog?

PBS, while great for the platform at the time, are no longer used as much and we are providing a similar and better experience with Team Create. There you have it. Straight from the bloggy's mouth.
Money often costs too much. |

Personal Build Servers, are basically being replaced which I never used tbh. |

Like Roblox said PB Servers are no longer used as much and Team Create is giving a better experience.

Team Create is giving a better experience...In their opinion.
For the developers.
But what about minibuilders (like me), or game parties? Or people who want to build while doing other things in-game? There's no cons to keeping it, and there's the aforementioned pros.
Also, before anyone goes on about PBS servers costing money or something ridiculous like that, it's a feature that you need BC for. In other words, it's a feature I (as a TBC member) paid for. And yes, that is the reason I have TBC.

You can do all of these in a normal server.
give me the tape the edginess is so unbearable | +2k posts |

Except a normal server doesn't save your creations...

Well that isn't the purpose of PBS servers.
It's for building.
Talking about the gear wars, etc etc.

Personal build servers are supposed to be for building things, and saving your creations.
Name one reason why they should not keep PBS servers, why it would hurt the site, and don't take the words straight from the mouth of the blog.
I feel like since you need BC to make a PBS server, we paid for this feature anyway and it shouldn't be removed, just as an additional point.
But generally, I don't see how this will harm the site in any way. It all seems like it is only a BAD thing, specifically for the groups of people that I mentioned.

If there's the studio build team create option just like we have with studio right now you should be able to place the tools that you would have with a PBS with no problems. |
|
|
Why is it necessary to remove personal servers though? Can they not have both?
There's no POINT to removing it.
Yet there's people that actually do use it, and they won't be able to do the same things with Team Create. I know several games and things that this will ruin.

A moderator posted that it was a rarely used feature and it interfered with Team Create so they scrapped it. |

How does it interfere with Team Create?

No idea, regardless they're scrapping it.
On the bright side there's a Build mode in studio where you can walk around with studio tools and build around you. So maybe perhaps you can do that with Team Create and just insert some tools in.

But then again I don't exactly know if that'd be a thing, it's only been shown in the edit mode. |
|

*grumbles* That's not a bright side.
It annoys me how they keep removing and adding features that people don't like (removing PBS doesn't benefit anyone in the slightest), when some of these updates have the potential to be good. I still STRONGLY think they should keep both.
It's easier to build in a PBS, and actually..? I've heard that Team Create is lackluster, laggy, and generally inconvenient.
Although, if this is truly impossible and they can't do such a simple thing as to keep both, I suppose that is a bright side.
Or I could insert some sort of save script into my game...Inconvenient still, but better than nothing.

well they can't keep both otherwise they probably would. |
|

I'm a hundred percent certain that they could.

moderator posted that they can't |

Links or it's invalid.
And just because a mod posts it doesn't necessarily mean they're entirely telling the truth, just saying.
What I mean by that is...Well, I don't want to explain. It'd take too long.
