Friend request count staying at 1

I accepted a friend request and then the notification for it won't go away and it's really bothering me. I tried using "ignore all" but that didn't help either. Any suggestions?

If it is a notification then you cant remove it. It will go away after a bit. Or after the event is over! If it is a message click the box for the check mark and then click achve!
