If bloxcity is in violation of Roblox copyright in regards to characters, they'd be subject to a C&D order. If whoever runs that site didn't comply, he'd be subject to a civil and possibly criminal court hearing.

Why do you guys treat bloxcity like if it will actually get somewhere? It's near impossible to compete with ROBLOX at this point (400K users playing games at the same time three days ago, new record and it is till climbing). Bloxcity is so poorly made that there's no way ROBLOX would take it seriously as it doesn't even really have a player base.
Like people seriously, your fan art drawings are more scary legally wise than bloxcity for ROBLOX.

copyright laws aren't only meant to prevent competitors from generating more money than the business that invented the idea, but also to prevent competitors from making money using the ideas of the company in the first place |

How many active users are we talking about (in other words how many that signed in more than once for 2 minutes out of curiosity)? And where did you find this information (as in not posted by mr Isaac himself because there's no way in hell I'm going to believe that).

I came across their 15k figure on the website and it sounds reasonable to me because it's easy to trap newcomers with how appealing the presentation of the website is. 15k is their number for the amount of people registered too, rather active users. Regardless of their success, copyright laws are in place to prevent companies from profiteering from the ideas of other businesses. If this isn't some sort of an extension hosted by ROBLOX themselves, they should probably take it down. |

I went onto the group discussion forum and it was literally like 5 c&gers from roblox on there lmao
There are even groups specifically for roblox users that have a good amount of members, and theres even a TVO clan on there

as far as i'm aware that all made sense, but it's like midnight so idk
in short:
the avatars on bloxcity are very similar to the ones on roblox and therefore most likely violate roblox copyright. Bloxcity administrators will probably receive a C&D order from Roblox at some point because of that.

I honestly doubt ROBLOX will have enough stuff to "copyright" bloxcity or whatever.
You see multiple war games coming out for consoles and you don't see people copyrighting them because they use same game modes |

they won't get a c&d order lol, that's for different legal matters
they'll get a formal lawsuit sent to them, to which they can either choose to settle with ROBLOX, or they'll choose to challenge it
if they challenge the lawsuit, they'll be taken to a corporate court (not a civil court, civil courts handle civil disputes only), to which they will be tried, and a judge will rule on whether or not blox city violates roblox's trademark(s) and copyright(s), and then award an amount of money based on that
it's a lot harder for blox city to get sued than you think though, as you can't really put a copy right around the concept of "blocky characters" or anything similar. it's too broad of a concept, and it'll be hard for that to stand up in a court of law. roblox's only saving grace is the caliber of lawyers they can afford |
