1. antiwave - basically really distorted and unbearable music with structure, but made with synth / organ along with guitar and drums. 2. vaporviolence - a whole genre made of samples of grindcore / powerviolence 3. oceancore - grindcore with ocean sounds

i dunno, i hate how fans of certain artists try to box their music into a genre and get mad when they want to try something new

"i don't like genres in general, music is just music" that's how i am with most stuff, but i will admit that, just like circ said, subgenres do make it incredibly easy to find new music like i always had tons of trouble finding new music until i started getting into shoegaze and dream pop, and now it's become pretty easy to find bands that i enjoy (as rather than looking for a band with, say, a vocalist that i personally like, i can look for bands that have a particular sound, which is much easier if you ask me)

"i find new music just by clicking on random youtube videos lol" i used to find new music through warrior cats AMVs i ended up listening to a ton of garbage in the process (mostly buttrock with a dash of nu metal) but that's how i found the antlers and gradually started listening to better music, so i can't really complain too much tbh

i also believe theres no good or bad music in general theres only opinions, most the times i call sommert bad its usually me trying to get a rise out of people and it works

"i also believe theres no good or bad music in general theres only opinions, most the times i call sommert bad its usually me trying to get a rise out of people and it works" see, i think it depends on what criteria you're using to determine whether music is good or bad. if you're judging music based on the actual skill required to write and perform it, then there is most definitely such a thing as bad music. the issue is, most people don't know enough about music to make such a judgement and instead conflate 'bad' with 'thing i don't like', and try to pass off their faulty judgement as sound fact. if you're only judging music based on how enjoyable it is, though, then i'd agree that there's no real way to determine if something is good or bad, as it's all a matter of opinion.

if you're judging music based on the actual skill required to write and perform it, ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------- There's no quantifiable method of judging something as subjective as music.
