The Exile Greatsword (which is a curved Greatsword so it has good scaling in both DEX and STR), is a beast in PvP. It's got a C-scaling in STR and DEX, which can be bumped up to B with a Refined gem. If you're a quality build with a taste for big weapons, this is your guy. PROS: -You could run this with a standard 40/40 quality build with great results. May function better with a 50/50. -OP spin-to-win weapon art. Stunlocks people beyond the guaranteed two-hit combo and can be followed up with an R1 or R2. -Great for parry baiting as the recovery time after a missed swing isn't too bad. -Great base scaling in STR and DEX (C) and can be boosted to a B if you infuse it with a Refined gem. -Great critical damage as is standard with most large weapons, especially when used with the Hornet Ring. CONS: -Eats up stamina like crazy. 30 END is great for the build but you may not be able to get many hits off with anything less than that. -Somewhat easy to parry. Can easily be countered by two-handing, as most people get intimidated when it comes to parrying two-handed greatswords. -The weight isn't terrible for a Greatsword, but it should be noted that it weighs 17 units. STATS USING A 40/40 QUALITY BUILD, +10 REINFORCEMENT, AND A REFINED GEM. Weight: 17.0 Physical Attack: 262 + 306 (568) Magic Attack: 0 Fire Attack: 0 Lighting Attack: 0 Dark Attack: 0 STR Scaling: B DEX Scaling: B INT Scaling: - FTH scaling: - NOTE: The testing and stat measurement was measured through what I consider to be the optimal stat investment for the Exile Greatsword. Results will vary depending on level of reinforcement, stat investment, and what the weapon is infused with. Build: Starting Class: Thief Soul Level: 120 VGR: 30 ATT: 11 VIT: 17 END: 30 STR: 40 DEX: 40 INT: 15 FTH: 12 LCK: 14 The extra points into Intelligence are optional. They are there so you can use Great Magic Weapon, but the stat is purely optional to invest in with this build. All in all, this weapon is a beast in both PvP and PvE. It's extremely deadly when coupled with a Refined Estoc in your RH2 slot which can be used to finish an enemy off when they're at low health.

"who needs optimal builds when you have the dodge button and you get an Uchikatana so early" Because the Uchigatana is crap-tier unless you invest properly. Not even the best katana-class weapon. Chaos Blade has always been the best. That and the Washing Pole. Uchigatana's good for twinks but that's just about it.
