So I say, when you create decals, there should be an option that allows you to insert more than one 'texture', into the decal allowing it to play like a GIF, so sprites will load without having to be scripted using loops. It already takes long enough, to get every layer of the GIF file, transferred onto your desktop, so allowing this feature would be perfect.
Recommended properties to go with it;
Stop command, Animation Speed, Play command.
Post below if you agree this should be added, this feature would be perfect for Pokemon games, or arcade games.

This would help development, with animations. GIF files are basically images that animate, and move around.

Good for RPG games where you can like, click a button and it teleports you to a different place with a different decal. |

Yeah, you could use a cool GUI to make the portal look animated.

@travis
it's because it's possible already using scripting, however there are many flaws with the scripted version
1. requires a ton of images if the FPS is higher than like 8
2. some decals might not get approved because roblox mods are very best
3. hard to keep track of every decal (script gets VERY messy)
4. requires too much preloading

easily scriptable:
while true do
decal.Image = "[Image URL]"
wait(0.1)
decal.Image = "[Image URL]"
and just do that to make a GIF |

@atomic
like what reset said:
too much preloading & can get out of sync.
support for the gifs |

no support, i understand how short gifs are but i don't think roblox wants to have to sit through every single one and make sure there is not any inappropriate content in the frames. it's already hard enough to get a completely innocent decal, shirt, t-shirt, etc accepted, so imagine how much worse adding gifs to roblox would make it.
why make trillions when we can make.... billions? |

There's already a feature allowing you to add 'multiple decals', without having to click develop decals, then go to the file one at a time and upload them. That being, this would be the exact same thing.

And this feature we're going to be requesting is just a simple property inside the decal instance in which you add into workspace or some other place. It allows you to insert multiple decals into the decal, turning it into a decal that plays textures.

@kyl
they can just watch the gif
then watch it again but at 3 frames per second just in case
they dont have to moderate each and every image

People could just upload seizure decals. |

@Robloxian, that's a really good point, but there's already patterns that give you seizures that they put on ROBLOX, so it doesn't really matter.
