Peter Frampton's "Do You Feel Like We Do" is over 14 minutes long. The longest song is being played as we speak called Longplayer and will end in 991 years.

You also have to consider that most people listen to singles, which rarely exceed 4 minutes long.

One of the longest songs I've encountered has to be 2112 by Rush, clocking in at 20 minutes and 34 seconds, but if we're talking about long rock we should disqualify Rush because they practically invented the 'long rock' song. Examples above 7 minutes - Working Man, 7:11 By-Tor and the Snow Dog, 8:37 The Necromancer, 12:29 Fountain of Lamneth, 19:58 2112, 20:34 Xanadu, 11:05 Cygnus X-1 Part 1, the Voyage, 10:22 Cygnus X-1 Part 2, Hemispheres, 18:08 La Villa Strangiato, 9:35 Jacob's Ladder, 7:29 Natural Science, 9:18 The Camera Eye, 10:59 the list goes on and on.
