BE IT ENACTED BY THE UNITED STATES SENATE
OPENING
The Senate Armed Forces Committee shall be the principal defense oversight body of the United States Congress.
SECTION I JURISDICTION OF THE SENATE ARMED FORCES COMMITTEE:
The Senate Armed Forces Committee shall have the jurisdiction over the following topics:
Defense Nominations,
The Department of Defense at large, Department of the Army, Department of the Navy, Department of the Air Force, and the Marine Corps at large, but not the Coast Guard, that shall be reserved for a senate committee on homeland security or a related committee.
and
Alliances regarding military support and or alliances restricted solely to military features.
SECTION II POWER OF THE SENATE ARMED FORCES COMMITTEE:
The Senate Armed Forces Committee shall have the ability to hear any congressional act within it’s set jurisdiction before it is presented to senate at large. On nominations, the Committee shall have the power to hold a congressional hearing with every defense nominee before voting on whether or not they will be sent to the Senate for an approval or revoked and sent back to the President for further consideration on a better nominee. For bills, the Committee shall have the exact same power as given to them for nominations. The Committee shall be obligated to send a letter to the President or the author with reasoning as to why they denied the nominee and/or a bill presented to them.
SECTION III MEMBERS OF THE SENATE ARMED FORCES COMMITTEE:
The President Pro Tempore of the senate shall act as the committee’s chairman.
All members of the committee shall be decided by the President Pro Tempore of the senate, and at least one committee member must be a different party than the President Pro Tempore. |
