The partition was extremely dumb. The reason they partitioned was because of religion. But as MK Gandhi said, "Why make religion a problem when it is not one already?" |

I can smell the sarcasm, nomer.
While it wasn't true harmony, it was exacerbated by the partition. Muslim's living in the Hindu area either moved north or were beaten. Hindu's living in the Muslim areas either moved south or were beaten. Many people died in mass-brawls between two travelling groups of opposing religions. |

Therefore the partition only INCREASED the fighting and the death and was an extremely dumb idea that was opposed by all major politicians except the British government and Muhammad Ali Jinnah. |
