Like I said, metalcore has some good bands. People have a tendency to judge based on public opinion. The only newer band that I've seen who has any sort of resonating lyrics is The Amity Affliction, who takes the cake for the newer wave of metalcore. They're severely underrated and should be featured more prominently.

>"You gotta love the people who say "Lamb of God is my favorite metalcore band."" no one actually says that, right> I've come across quite a number of people who have. Primarily at Guitar Center. Now that you think of it, it's Guitar Center. You can't set your standards too high.

I've tried a few metalcore bands. Namely Killswitch Engage, Trivium, All That Remains, and August Burns Red. So far the only one that I really like is ABR.

I like Kill Switch but for some reason their screams in particular give me a headache. When it comes to metalcore bands I personally enjoy Exotype (They are really "Relentless") Fit for a King August Burns Red Of Mice and Men (One might say my enjoyment for one of their albums comes by the "flood" . . .) Bring Me The Horizon Attila (Because I'm "all about that life" :P) Avenged Sevenfold (Probably a few others but I just cant think of them off the top of my head)

Attila is a joke. They're the Limp Bizkit of deathcore. Of Mice and Men are okay. They're a 7/10 in my book. They have a few good songs, but for the most part, they rip-off Linkin Park. Bring Me The Horizon is a very good band for those just now breaking into the core genre of music. They force listeners to branch out and look at genres through different eyes, which is always a positive thing. You shouldn't just look at genres through the eyes of judgement, but rather see through your own perspective. That's what kills music today. August Burns Red has always been hard for me to get into. I've listened to a majority of their songs and have never come to enjoy them. I even saw them live and still didn't like any of their music. They just don't click with me. A7X hasn't been metalcore in at least 12 years. They weren't even a good core band. They've become overrated for reasons that escape me. They seem really hard to overrated, since their music has always seemed like a really bad rip-off of Pantera. Yet, the music scene has exceeded my expectations and have made them a really overrated edition to the mainstream. Fit for a King is quite average to me, but I see why people like them. Exotype is kind of 'meh.' I mainly listen to: The Amity Affliction (currently my favorite metalcore act because they have good lyrics.) Bullet for my Valentine (second favorite metalcore act, albeit melodic) blessthefall Trivium Motionless in White Parkway Drive Escape The Fate Memphis May Fire Beartooth (mainly 'In Between.' Everything else by them is below average.) Of Mice & Men Crown The Empire (If they still count, since they don't really borrow much aside from the guitars.)

Metalcore saved my life. Asking Alexandria is the best band ever and anyone who says otherwise is a troll and doesn't know good music.

>Trivium is metalcore? Yes. Trivium started out as a metalcore act early on. They took a more melodic approach, but they were still associated with the early 2000's wave of metalcore. Here's a few examples: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EApnhO2OIrw (I believe this is their best song.) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tX226Db63ZE
