Now, I'd like to clear something up here: this is not in order and it is simply a list of the greatest COD games of all time ***in my opinion***, if you disagree with the list you can explain why but I'm probably going to stand my ground. I've been playing Call of Duty since 2005 and I love some new ones and old ones as well. I don't believe dead [even though IW will probably be mediocre at best] and I have personal preferences that obviously had influence on the list. There are still some COD games that I have not played enough [or at all, I believe] but I'll do my best to create a list that generally serves justice. Also, this list is NOT in order!!! Really, it's quite difficult for me to put some of the releases above others... [1] Call of Duty: World at War WAW introduced a WWII campaign that raised the franchise's standards for realism and brutality, and it was the first Call of Duty game with a Zombies mode, which would become a fan favorite very quickly. The surprising gruesome nature of the Campaign mode and dynamic Multiplayer experience combined with the WWII background made this game shine and sparkle [even though it was quite dark] [2] Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 I could rant about this game, but I'll try to keep this short and sweet to the point. The game had incredible multiplayer, and the trickshot-and-sniping community [yes, I know these are jokes now but they were taken seriously then] bounced straight from the first MW to the second. I remember playing this game on a daily basis back around 2009-2011 and the game is still enormously enjoyable. The Campaign provided yet another stunning thrill ride reminiscent of COD4 but still introducing new elements to the franchise. The game was a catalyst for Multiplayer and pushed boundaries for online gaming as a whole. [3] Call of Duty: Black Ops World at War gave us a good glimpse at what Zombies could do for Call of Duty, and Black Ops took it up a thousand notches. The Campaign was enjoyable and gruesome and the Multiplayer grew on me over time as I realized it had an undeniable feeling of authenticity. The Zombies mode had a plethora of playable maps [DLC included] and was a vast upgrade from WAW Zombies. The game had a gruesome atmosphere and advanced Call of Duty gameplay in many ways. Black Ops was a victory on COD turf. [4] Call of Duty: Modern Warfare It's safe to say the remastered version of this release is accumulating MASSIVE hype -- and for good reason. Easily one of the best FPS games of the past decade, MW had a breathtaking Campaign & remarkable multiplayer which made it a cut above the rest. Nothing more to say. [5] Call of Duty 2: Big Red One For those of you who don't recognize this title, I feel bad for you. This game had an iconic Campaign mode, a Multiplayer mode I don't think I've ever tried, and memorable moments and memories that make it special. Revolving around WWII, this release was action-packed and respectable. [6] Call of Duty Sure, it hasn't aged well, and I don't remember what playing it was like, the original deserves a spot for ushering in an era of FPS games that have proven to be heavily influential. Unfortunately, I've never played the original. [7] Call of Duty 2 I have played this game all the way through over and over and over again. I have loved it since I was little more than a child, and, along with COD 2: Big Red One, it graces many happy memories of mine. COD 2 is another release that still makes me smile, sit back, and think to myself: "This is awesome." [8] Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 I know i'll get some backlash for this one, but MW3 had Multiplayer that made up for the dull Campaign. Simple as that. [9] Call of Duty: Black Ops 2 Though it wasn't exactly the highlight of recent releases, and it wasn't quite as good as its predecessor, I enjoyed elements of the Zombies mode enough to give the game a play. [10] Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare WHOA, WHOA, WHOA... Calm down. Yes, this game received immediate negative responses due to the introduction of exosuits. However, as a longtime Call of Duty fan, I have to say this game gave a necessary revival to the franchise after... [shivers] ... Ghosts. I really enjoyed this release's maps and the Zombies mode was surprisingly well executed, ESPECIALLY in contrast to Extinction. C'mon everyone, let's take a ride in my balloon / casino!

jokes aside, it is nice that you're explaining your reasoning the problem is, i don't see why CoD needs a top 10 when there's been only 14 (i think?) games in the series a top 5 might be better

Good point. That would be difficult as well because of the favoritism and bias involved. Even though this is opinionated I tried to make it so that it aligns with general consensus as well. C'mon everyone, let's take a ride in my balloon / casino!

I enjoyed ever call of Duty made before 2013. But I`m just not digging their future Concept. Black Ops II was the only CoD based in the future I enjoyed.

Yeah I don't like the future concept too much either, and Ghosts, in my opinion, was the worst COD game. Keep in mind this isn't in order. C'mon everyone, let's take a ride in my balloon / casino!
