I have a few models (now deleted you won't find) that somehow got infected with the vaccine. How did a virus get into my own model that I created myself?

Probably from the place you were building them in. Did you insert any other models while making yours?

No, flat base and just parts and a few free models. I inspect the free models and their scripts carefully, if I find something fishy I delete it and find something else. But in this instance I had a bunch of sphere balls that did NOT come from free models.

Do you have any plugins?

No, this was awhile back I made these models when plugins never existed.

I don't know then. Hopefully someone else might.

If you use free models, infection is extremely likely to happen.

Oh, my god. So I just inserted a gear using InsertService and it actually had a virus in it. It didn't have a spread script, just the usual "daaaaaaaang.........you got owned..." thing. But that just confirms to the possibility of other viruses also spreading through official ROBLOX items. So if you've ever inserted any gear or hats, that may be the cause.

@Kei, was it a new or old gear? If it was old the creator probably used a free model to make the gear.

does the no lag plugin, and virus destroyer work?

A no lag plugin is ludicrous. There is no such thing, for the more crap you add to your game the more lag it has. If you want minimum lag, you are playing on an empty baseplate. -Ghost

The virus might have come from a gear... In 2010 people used to get virus, maybe because someone inserted viruses into the offical roblox gears! And if you have inserted one of thoose gears, you might have gotten a virus!

Its most likely from the Vaccine. Just because its a vaccine doesn't mean it works. I was experimenting with Viruses, and vaccines. I found a vaccine in a free model, after reading the script, it was actually a virus, just named "Vaccine" That is most likely why. I would make another game, and never use free models.

@Brick No, I didn't insert it using a free model, I inserted the actual "Deluxe Hook Shot" gear using insert service. It's directly coming from ROBLOX and not from anyone else. Go ahead and try it yourself, you'll find it.

@Brick Oh, never mind, I misread what you said. I suppose the gear is relatively new though, it's the Deluxe Hook Shot.

Odd, it may use parts from an old gear then.

I never insert anything in Test or Build mode, only in Studio mode. Studio is safer because no scripts are running and you can search throughout anything you insert for any 'fishy items' before hitting F6 to test it.

The virus is named vaccine, and as I said my model only consisted of spheres from the toolbar above, nothing from free models. I made and saved my models in edit mode so there would've been no way for a vaccine to get into my model, but it still somehow did.
