If you want to make a 2D game, I recommend not using Roblox. Go like use Flash CS or Scratch or GameJam,etc.
I recommend Scratch ,eventhough some people tend to neglate it. It easy to use and it still a complex language if you think about it even for a drag n drop. It have variable,list,function,etc.I can show you how to make a 2D Scrolling 4 Directional Car game. I made a test here using scratch.
