People always roast 18/19 year olds on this site for living with their parents, but just because you're 18 and a "big boy" doesn't mean you move out and try to be independent. You get a job, help with taxes, and slowly integrate into living on your own. I know plenty of idiots who were so eager to leave that they messed themselves up and then move back in at 22 and start looking like total losers.

Doesn't apply to people living at college in dorms obviously, that's not really independent.

Even though I'm going to college soon I still kinda live with my parents lol. I'm living in my college dorm throughout the week, and coming back home on the weekend.

I'm sure some people will have a valid reason and I don't really know what your's is but I'm talking about people that have a choice, and an easy one at that.

If I wanted to move out I could since I'm financially stable, my parents moved out of their homes and moved over 4,000 miles away to a different location at age 18 when they got married. However, I plan to go to college locally... I'll likely stay with my parents till I'm 19-20ish and then get an apartment with a roommate for college until I'm 24... I'm hoping by that time I've got a wife C:

it's cheaper, free food, free lodging, you're with people you love, you're with people who support you in almost every way why would you want to move out? stay with your parents until you have a stable job, imo frigid forever o7

Sure they do. Some people are more financially advanced than others and can afford to move out at 18. Better than going to the other extreme and staying in your mother's basement until 35.

It is when you're out of school and you just sit in the basement playing video games instead of getting a job. That is when it is a problem. run

well you see most 18/19 year olds can't move out because they don't have jobs or didn't before and thought they could rely on an unexpected amount of graduation money (if they even graduated). you have to save for these things and that's why you're able to get a job at 16 or earlier. or they just don't move out because getting a place would be pointless if they have upcoming plans such as college, military, etc. OR there are no places available in the areas you're looking at (for family, work, etc) and they need to wait. i know a lot of people who left early and were eager to do so. they have yet to mess up.

Just because you're financially ready to move out doesn't mean you are mentally or you aren't ready to take care of yourself. I'd wager that's the issue with a lot of the ones that do move out.

if you're not mentally ready, you're unlikely to move out unless kicked out. in that case, you wouldn't be living with your family. if you're unable to take care of yourself, there's no excuses for that unless it's because of an illness. there has been 18+ years of your life to learn how to become independent and/or how to take care of yourself.

I disagree. This girl I know on Roblox with the username Bellaz just sits and home and doesn't go to college or do anything.
