-Chat Moderation
I believe that having a blacklist of words is a sufficient way of censoring, but roblox, with everyone that actually violates this blacklist because they do not know what is censored and what is not, and even some of the words that are censored. (Such as one time, the word your was censored, and I think that is a bit to the extreme) it can become incredibly annoying. Especially for those who are older where the blacklist isn't as long as the 13 or younger users. And for younger users, older users sentences can sometimes be all censored out to them but not others. It is very annoying because our generation today doesn't really give a crap about language and will say it anyway. Even in the age group of 6-9 year olds. I have a list of reasonable but debatable possible solutions.
- Make a separate chat room for people who are in the age groups of:
6-9 : all words on blacklist
10-13 : a few words off blacklist, but cannot say their age (they can probably work Round this but even in roblox privacy policy it says they know people can work around it)
14-16: about 1/4 of blacklist words off, maybe even 2/4
17+: no blacklist at all except phrases that show extreme inappropriate behavior (more so being harmful)
- Still have one chat room, but have the above chat age groups applied. Younger users will not see the words presented from older users.
Bonus: Have an age verification if they are signing up as 14+, such as Facebook. It might not be the most efficient, but it's the easiest thing to do without a swarm of complaints from robloxians.
Regarding robux:
Many people see roblox as being greedy for money with removal of tickets. However, consider how much work and money is put into bringing the updates we want. They need the money to stay in business, pay their workers, make profit, buy upgraded equipment and even for making huge updates to roblox. Even regarding their secuirtysystem that keeps getting broken by hackers. I want tix back too, but look at it from their perspective too. I bet it was very hard to make this decision. With all the features they plan to be giving to us by the end of the year too, it makes sense that they made these features finally come out in order to hopefully compensate for taking tix away. Such as the creation of hats and retextures being for sale. I like this and I can't wait for them to implement it.
But, I suggest upon signing up, a 50-100 range of robux can be given to users to give them a start on customizing their character. I think it's a reasonable amount.
I love roblox and I hope you guys read this and take the robux part into consideration. Roblox Admins, I know you are trying your best but I do want you to consider bringing tix back in some way.
